I'll pass this one, RVD vs. Cena vs. Edge was the only reason I was going to watch but now I won't

This is make or break for the future of Saturday Night's Main Event, because if this one turns out to be a real flop or draws low ratings, then this may be the last one, that you ever see or the last one that you see for a long time

I do not see the market being there for it anymore to be honest, because there is so much saturation in regards to WWE programming and hardly any of it is worth even turning the channel on for.

I think it should be discontinued until their business as a company is back up again and when they have some crediability as a company

Although the show does not look all that interesting, I will most likely end up watching SNME next Saturday, unless something else of importance ends up occurring.

Well with the way it has been advertised, if that's what we can call it, I wouldn't be surprised the slightest, especially with the show being broad-casted on the mainstream network.

I'd just like to note out that both Trish Stratus and Melina have been left out from the Bikini Bull Riding Contest taking place on the show which probably means we'll be seeing a mixed-tag-team match between Carlito/Trish and Nitro/Melina.

Edge vs. Cena might be a solid match. I just hope Edge is given another stupid 3 week reign.

Uh, how many time are we going to see DX vs. The Spirit Squad? Come on, if I had known that on the fateful day, December 26th, 2005, the day HBK told Vince McMahon to move on, would lead to such a bad fued that still hasn't culminated in 7 months, I would have stopped watching those segments long ago. I mean, we've seen HBK vs. the Spirit Squad, HBK vs. McMahon, HBK vs. the McMahon's, another HBK vs. the Spirit Squad, a THIRD HBK vs. The Spirit Squad, Triple H vs. The Spirit Squad, DX vs. The Spirit Squad, and now ANOTHER DX vs. The Spirit Squad. WHY is this storyline still happening. When is it going to stop being so freaking predicable. Does anyone care anymore? The answers are no one knows, never, and no.

Anyway, the 6 man might be decent.

The Bullriding thing is pointless.

Add that up:

Decent + pointless + decent + pointless to the 215136 power = SNME IS DOOMED!

I just hope the segment doesn't hog much of the time-slot similarly to the Austin/JBL beer drinking contest from last time.

That's the part I skip on the WM 22 DVD. It took too much time. I hope it's less segment, more wrestling this time around.

">  Plus, for the first time in six months, Batista will return to in-ring action as he teams up with World Champion Rey Mysterio and United States Champion Bobby Lashley to take on King Booker, Mark Henry and Finlay (with William Regal and Queen Sharmell in their corner)."

Could be a real good match (except for Henry's part). Kind of surprised SD hasnt proposed a Batista and Taker vs Henry and Khali.

You really think Taker would show up for a show like Saturday Night Main Event? Oh please...he's too good for free TV.

And plus, the closest Taker will get to pairing up with someone will be with Kane since a B.O.D re-union is in the works right now, apparently.

MORE MATCHES OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED

Live, on national television, John Cena will have an opportunity to win back the WWE Championship from his hated rival, Edge.

On the July 3 edition of RAW, it looked as though Cena was already on his way to regaining the gold. But after Cena hit RVD with an FU, knocking him to the mat, Edge took the Championship belt and cracked Cena in the head. Then, Edge showed the being “Rated R” stands for being resourceful and stole the cover and the WWE Championship.

Cena’s history with Edge is extensive, and their match at Saturday Night’s Main Event is definitely personal. Edge won his first WWE Championship when he cashed in his Money in the Bank opportunity and defeated Cena after he was already bloodied and battered in the Elimination Chamber. But Cena ended that first Championship reign at the Royal Rumble in January, and this time, Edge has said he’s a wiser, stronger Champion that will not repeat the same mistakes during his second run as champion.

Will the Rated R Superstar be able to defend his newly acquired Championship, or will Cena’s determination to recapture RAW’s top honor lead him to victory? Tune in to Saturday Night’s Main Event at 8/7 CT on NBC to find out.

Former World Champion Batista will be making his long-awaited return to in-ring action, live on Saturday Night’s Main Event July 15.

After a six month absence, Batista returned to SmackDown on the July 7 edition of SmackDown, and he is surely eager to prove his time off only made him bigger, stronger and meaner than ever before.

Now that he’s back, the Animal’s hungry for a piece of the “The World’s Strongest Man” Mark Henry, the person responsible for putting Batista on the sidelines. The two will clash at The Great American Bash, but this will give them an opportunity to possibly get a brief taste of what the Bash will be like. The Animal will team with U.S. Champion Bobby Lashley and World Champion Rey Mysterio to take on Henry, King Booker and Finlay in a Six Man Tag Team Match. But with Sharmell and William Regal in the King’s corner, the three-on-three could wind up more like a five-on-three handicap match.

Mysterio and Batista share something in common—a problem with Mark Henry. Mysterio’s friend, Chavo Guerrero, suffered a brutal pounding by the hands of Henry, and when Mysterio tried to come to his friend’s aid, The World’s Strongest Man overpowered the much smaller World Champion, leaving him unconscious in the ring.

Without losing, Batista still has a legitimate claim for the Championship, so how will the man who vacated the Championship and the current World Champion coincide with one another? Can they work together to defeat their opponents?

Their other partner, Bobby Lashley, has been battling King Booker and Finlay for months. Finlay, William Regal and Sharmell flocked to ringside to support their King in his recent Steel Cage Match on SmackDown, doing their best to make sure Lashley didn’t get the victory. Unfortunately, their efforts weren’t enough. After a long, brutal battle between the King and the Champion, Lashley was able to climb out first for the victory. But Finlay and Regal will have a chance for revenge when they vie for Lashley’s U.S. Championship at The Great American Bash. They would probably like nothing more than to soften up Lashley before their chance at gold.

How will the King’s Court effect the match at Saturday Night’s Main Event? Will the King’s team reign supreme, or will the Animal and his team overthrow their rivals?

Arguably the most influential Superstar in Saturday Night's Main Event history will be returning to NBC on July 15 - Hulk Hogan.

The WWE Hall of Famer, who was also a part of the first-ever Saturday Night's Main Event, along with his daughter Brooke, will be making a special appearance at the huge event on live, national television. What does Hogan have in store for all of his Hulkamaniacs? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure. Wherever Hulk Hogan goes, huge things usually follow.

What will happen when the immortal Hulk Hogan returns to Saturday Night's Main Event with his daughter Brooke? Tune in to Saturday Night's Main Event at 8/7 CT on NBC to find out.

The sexiest women on television, the WWE Divas, will be out in full force at Saturday Night’s Main Event in the first-ever Bikini Bull-Riding Contest.

All three brands will be represented in this unique and intriguing contest. Women’s Champion Mickie James, Candice, Victoria, Torrie Wilson and Maria will represent RAW; Ashley, Jillian, Kristal and Michelle McCool will represent SmackDown; and Kelly Kelly will represent ECW. But they will all vie for bragging rights in the first ever Bikini Bull Riding Match.

Which Diva from which brand will emerge victorious? Will ECW’s Kelly abandon the Bull Riding Match to give the crowd another exposé? Will the former teacher, Michelle McCool, make the grade, or fail miserably? Tune in to Saturday Night’s Main Event at 8/7 CT on NBC to find out.

Yeah, he did, but don't forget that it was all in cause to hype up their match at WrestleMania 22...WrestleMania.

Seriously...he's one of the highest paid superstars in the WWE right now and he's not been a public part of their product for who knows how long for already. He's only made two public appearances LIVE within a matter of four months, both during his match and feud with Khali. SmackDown! could benefit a great deal if he actually agreed to compromising with more interaction with the brand he's a part of.

He's proved that he's got the energy and spark to pull off a spectacular match, just look at his match against Angle from No Way Out 2006 this year. At his age and state of his career, he shouldn't waste it. It's precious.

The Undertaker cannot handle a full time schedule anymore, his body is too worn down and he has kids at home also

I have been a huge Undertaker fan for years, but his prime expired 7 years ago and he cannot handle what he use to these days

Yeah but Takers worked alot of Hell in a Cell matches plus Flair has taken many extended sabaticols during his career.

Then he should retire and not continue to be treated like a top-line main event player when he only shows up 7 times a year.

Stop pretending to be an active member of the Smackdown roster.  People pay good money these days to see Undertaker and are disappointed most of the time.

Flair survived an freakin' plane crash and was told he'd never wrestle again and that was, like, 87 years ago.

Well...considering the fact that last edition of Saturday Night's Main Event recieved disappointing rating...and that WWE has, you know, basically forgotton the build for this edition, imagine the rating will in the same or lower range of disappointment...

They need to just end Taker all together. Let a deserving superstar go over him at WM 23 or just retire and keep his undefeated streak. That, or actually appear on Smackdown. Im sure the crowds are sick of seeing him beat Khali and Henry in handicap dark matches every week.

See, that's the thing I just fail to understand.

He's fine with working dark matches after the SmackDown! tapings yet he doesn't have a public role on the actual show, which could efficiently boost up the level of the show if he does so. Why bother showing up at a show to have a dark match off TV when he could simply just show up for the authentic tapings and aid the brand?

I just don't get it, at all.

Two more matches officially announced.

Over the past few weeks, Sabu has been showcasing his talents in Extreme Rules Matches on ECW on Sci Fi. This Saturday night, he will take his showcase to NBC when he faces a fellow ECW Extremist in an Extreme Rules Match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

At ECW One Night Stand, Sabu fought Rey Mysterio to a No Contest in an Extreme Rules Match for the World Championship. Since then, he has been victorious over the likes of Roadkill and Tony Mamaluke on ECW on Sci Fi, also taking on John Cena in an Extreme Lumberjack Match at Vengeance.

Extreme Rules fit Sabu’s style perfectly, because…well, Extreme Rules basically means no rules. Anytime that The Most Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal athlete in ECW steps into the ring, chaos is sure to ensue.

Which ECW Extremist will be the lucky one who steps into Sabu’s Extreme Rules environment this Saturday night in Dallas?

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Carlito & Trish Stratus will team up to take on Intercontinental Champion Johnny Nitro & Melina. After Trish and Melina’s heated match on RAW, in which Nitro tried to interfere and Carlito came to Trish’s rescue, this growing rivalry is intertwined between both Superstars and Divas and it has reached its boiling point.

It all started at Vengeance, where Johnny Nitro claimed the Intercontinental Championship by pouncing on the opportunity Carlito unintentionally presented to him. Carlito hit then-Champion Shelton Benjamin with his signature Back Cracker, only to be pulled out of the ring by Nitro, who then covered a dazed Benjamin for the three count and the gold.

The next night on RAW, Melina led the newly crowned Champion to the ring after Trish’s loss to Mickie James. Melina proceeded to explain to Trish that she was now the top Diva in town; this enraged Trish and she attacked Melina, only to be interrupted by Nitro. It looked like a two-on-one attack was imminent, until out of nowhere Carlito came out to save Trish. Obviously still upset about Vengeance, the Caribbean Superstar sabotaged Melina & Nitro’s attack and sent them scurrying.

The following week on RAW, Nitro faced Carlito with the Intercontinental Championship on the line. Carlito connected once again with his Back Cracker, but Melina sensed that her man’s championship reign was nearing an end and jumped in the ring to cause a disqualification. At that point, Trish sprung into the ring from the back and the catfight was on.

With all the built-up animosity developed between the two Superstars and two Divas over the course of the past few weeks, things are sure to be interesting come Saturday night.

Now that Sabu is going to be there, I'm going to really watch the show, and now we have 5 matches to look forward, and it looks semi-PPV line-up if you ask me.

Haha!  I knew that somewhere down the line there would be a mixed tag team match between these four.

I wonder if they'll have JBL as a color commentator like they had Tazz as a color commentator last time.

Yep! Based on her match with Trish last night, this could be one of MOTN!

6 matches and a hogan appearance?... In 2 hours subtract entrances...Doesn't seem like the mixed Tag match will get enough time unless they cut down on the Hogan promo

It's actually 5 matches. So each match should get some decent amount of time. I'm saying the WWE Championship match will get the most time out of the others, follow by the DX vs. Spirit Squad match.

My Predictions (If you want to call them that): DX vs. The Spirit Squad in the "We've seen this match before and we don't want to see it again" match -- Obviously, DX. It's great to see DX return again, and they're funnier than ever, but without the promos, DX is boring, because all they do is tag matches. HBK and Trips are not tag team competitors... not anymore, anyway. WWE Championship: Cena vs. Edge in the "We can't have Superman lose without the other guy cheating, so what do we do?" match -- There are a few possibilities in this one. One is the obvious, that Cena will win and say "the Champ Is Here" for another year or so. Another possiblility is that Edge will win by cheating. The third possiblility is a DQ ending, which I think is most likely to happen. 6 Man Tag Team Match with a special "If you're not Batista, you'll be jobbing in this match" stipulation -- Batista will either Powerbomb everyone on the opposing team and win, or just bomb Henry for the win. Mixed Tag Team Match that I can't say anything bad about -- This should be an entertaining match... I just wish it would be Trish vs. Melina and Nitro vs. Carlito 1 on 1. It should still be a great match, though, especially compared to the other crappy mixed tag team matches we've seen throughout WWE's history. Sabu vs. Mystery Opponent in the "If it ain't CM Punk, we don't care!" Extreme Rules match -- If the mystery opponent is not Punk, I have no idea who else it could be. Angle didn't make an appearance at ECW did he? Maybe it's Angle. Diva Bullriding match with special "No one cares about this match that is going to take up perfectly good NBC Prime Time" rules -- Don't even know who is in it, don't care either. Hulk Hogan's "I need an extra buck or two so I'm going to appear on the WWE Prime Time SHow on NBC so I can outshine everyone else even though I'm not doing s**t for anyone except myself and my bimbo daughter who makes generic music videos" return -- If this promo goes past the 15 minute mark, I'm changing the channel. Enough said. If the Diva Search contestants make a "surprise appearance," I'm changing the channel... or is that them in the bullriding thing? You can't tell the WWE bimbos from the Diva Search bimbos these days. And of course, the two main events: Rob Van Dam vs. The Media -- The Media, hands down. So sad... :( Handicap match: Mr. McMahon vs. NBC and the show's horrible ratings -- Vince will probably end up finding some way to get his sorry show back on NBC again. Blackmail, perhaps? Who knows.

Apparently you hanv'nt seen NBCs normal Saturday ratings if you think that SNME is a downgrade.

My Prediction:

I think the Spirit Squad will finally lay it to DX this time with the help of Vinnie and Shane-O Mac.

Edge will retain his Championship with the help of Lita once again.

Team Batista will win here.

Waste of time here. But it should be something.

Hopefully Sabu opponent is CM Punk. If so, they would have one helluva match!

I say Trish and Carlito will puck up the win. Should be a good match.

Predictions

Winner: DX, neither member eliminated on DX which will finally get them a title shot.

Winner: Double DQ, brawls all the way to the parking lot with Edge running away.

Winner(s): Booker pinning Mysterio to show that he can beat the champ(Bastista and Henry brawl out of the ring to the back) Might be same with Finlay and Lashley).

Winner: audiences eyes since Brooke looks nice, Loser: the audience's ears for hearing her sing.

Winner: no winner since this will be a good time to go get something to eat.

Mystery opponent: maybe The Big Show? No real idea who his biggest rivals are. For all we know Randy Orton will come out. Or a nicely rested Benoit.

Winners: Carlito and Trish which will lead to IC title shot for Carlito with Trish in his corner to take care of Melina.
