how do you guys think the wwe will do announcing for this event?

they had JR do it last time, because he was a making a special appearance. but now that he is full-time on RAW what will happen?

I think JR will be there, and Jerry "the king" lawler will be too, representing raw. and I think JBL will represent SD! but what about sabu's match? who will come for ECW?

Batista will either Powerbomb everyone on the opposing team and win, or just bomb Henry for the win.  hatecena
There's no way Batista, nor anyone else, can powerbomb Henry.  It'll be the Spinebuster.

How much does Henry weigh, anyway? I thought he lost weight and only weighs like 300+?

I know, but in the Attitude Era he was like 400, then when he came back later, he was like 350.

Actually, Taker tombstoned him, but still, that's a lot of weight to tombstone too.

Actually I could have sworn fat boy climbed to the top rope, taker came out of the corner with him on his shoulders and powerbombed him, anyway getting back on topic here are my predictions Spirit Squad over DX Cena over Edge Team Baista over Team Booker Trish/Carlito over MNM Sabu vs CM Punk or maybe Benoit??

No, he hit the last ride. However, Henry was already on top of taker on the corner, so it wasn't as hard as Batista picking him up and powerbombing him.

This event is looking hot.

My main concern is how they are going to divide the two hour timeslot to cover the five matches announced along with two major segments besides the others following in between all the action in the ring.

During the last SNME in March, there was only four matches announced on the show with one of them (Booker T vs. Boogeyman) actually getting cancelled in the end. Not to mention there being a major segment involving Austin and JBL in a 'Beer Drinking Contest'. God knows how much time they will give Hogan and Orton contrary to how long they gave Austin and JBL last time.

Getting back to my opening statement, the event is looking hot indeed.

My main attraction right now is focused on the mixed tag team match which has been built up ever so greatly over the past few weeks on RAW. With both genders of the match using their perspective talents, I am sure this match could indeed pull off a shocker and be considered as a possible MOTN candidate.

I'll have my full predictions posted at some stage tomorrow night or by Saturday morning, latest.

From wwe.com: Edge's "thoughts" on his match against Cena... "This needs to end with me walking away with the gold.” ^ He's sooo right.

Who do you guys think is Sabu's opponent?

Logical choices:

1. CM Punk (we can hope...)

2. CW Anderson

3. Sabu vs. Justin Credible 2 (except without DQ this time...:|)

Random guesses (not logical):

1. Rhino (it could happen after that challange...but WWE will probably ignore TNA)

2. A random jobber

3. Someone from RAW or SD! (random) to make Sabu look good

I'm sure Sabu's opponent will be someone like Danny Doring and it's just another squash match.

My predictions...

Winners - Spirit Squad.
The McMahons will rise at the end of it all, similarly to what went down at the last SNME with the two screwing Michaels, the Bret way.

Winner - Edge.
Edge won the title last week. He can't play the transitional champion (again) for one freakin' week surely! Edge will retain somehow, no thanks to Lita.

Winners - Team FACE.
Batista is back so he HAS to win, especially on his first match since returning. I think he'll get the pin on King Booker, setting things up for their match at Summerslam.

Prediction - Orton RKO's Hogan?
I wouldn't be surprised to see Brooke get RKO'd actually.

Winner - Ashley.
The 'Diva Search' winner wins it all...as always.

Winner - Big Show.
His opponent won't be CM Punk. If the guy is being hyped for ECW, his first match will be in a so-called ECW ring. The only contenders I really see being probable is Big Show, possibly Ric Flair, and even Mick Foley.

Winners - Trish Stratus & Carlito.
Revenge is sweet. Trish and Carlito have been getting screwed by MN(M?) recently and it'll go the other way round by the end of this match. Plus it could push the two rivalries up till Summerslam.

Just in time for the show, my predictions...

Winners - Spirit Squad.
I'm sure that Vince and/or Shane will screw D-X to help the Spirit Squad get the win. My prediction is that Kenny & HHH are the last two in the ring.

Winner - Edge.
Although I'm not much of an Edge fan, I'm more Edge then Cena, I believe he will win. I think Cena will be getting the title back, but not until RAW's next PPV. I also have a feeling that this match might also be the end of Edge & Lita together.

Winners - Batist, Rey & Lashley.
They have more going for them then the other team. Batista pins Henry or Booker, or possibly Lashley pinning Finlay.

Prediction - RKO
1 or 2 RKO's will be given out tonight. If Brooke does not get a RKO, then Randy will make out with her infront of Hogan.

Winner - Mickie.
Mickie is just crazy enough to be the winner in a contest like this.

Winner - Big Show.
Although I'd like to see him face Punk, it won't happen. I'm guessing he will go agains Big Show and Show will get the win. Most likely to put Show over as true ECW.

Winners - Trish Stratus & Carlito.
For this feud to continue, Trish & Carlito need to win the match. I think this could be one of the best of the night because they all show good in ring abilities.

MOTN: Trish & carlito VS. Melina & Nitro or the 6-man Tag. If allowed to go a good amount of time, Sabu VS. Show could take it.

I like that they didn't overplay the Brooke Hoagan aspect of the Orton/Hogan set-up.  The first match was okay, good enough.  DX thought segment wasn't funny at all.  Carlito/Trish vs Nitro/Melina was a very average match IMO.  And now we're caught up to speed.

Carlito/Trish vs. Nitro/Melina was over way too fast. The opening segment wasn't exactly what I though it would be (which is a good thing). And the six man tag match was pretty good.

DX/Spirit Squad was a fun match.  I should have got HBK or Trips for my fantasy team, but I didn't expect them to clean house like that.  Honestly, Vince has to get back at them sometime.

Edge/Cena could have been a lot better.  I liked the ending though, with Lita slapping the ref as he tries to throw her out.  And the FU threw the table was a nice little touch.

Overall, I'm not sure what to give this edition of SNME.  Nothing stood out as either craptacular or great.  Although the diva bull-ride was completely pointless.

I believe it was a good show, better then I expected, I give the show a 7.0

The things that I could have done without

Seeing the Sissy Squad Wrestle

Seeing Brooke Hogan's Music Video

The bull Ride

Having the main event end in a screwjob

Now the big question is, has the WWE done enough for NBC to give them another Saturday Night's Main event? Please post your thoughts on this everybody

I think it will largely depend on the ratings from this show and whether or not, the WWE has improved over the next couple of months or whether or not they have gone backwards

I do believe if we do see another Saturday Night's Main Event, it will be in Early November, one of the first 2 Saturday's, which are November 4th and 11th

No, I don't believe WWE did enough to warrant another SNME.  I expect another 2.something in the ratings, 3 max.  It was okay, but not enough.

Well if they did not do enough to warrant it and the ratings clearly reflect it, assuming the ratings for the show turn out to be bad, then I believe that we may never see enough Saturday night's main event again or at least not until the WWE is in much better shape will NBC even consider giving them one again

before you consider anything, this is wwe, they have fans that will watch an piece of crap they spoon feed down their throats (or burn into their eye sockets if you want to piss on my analogy), therefore I expect the 3 range

That didn't really help the other SNME though.  Lower rating than Raw.

I thought this show was pretty bad...almost terrible.

all the matches were to short, and predictable. All the segments were not that funny, and didn't deliver in the way they should of imo. the only reason I stayed tuned in was because I thought the next part of the show was going to be better...and I was wrong each time.

could both of the hogan segments gotten any more cornier? Brooke, kindof needs to work on her acting skills, and shouldn't even be in this feud to begin with. Randy orton has...lost his touch, to say the least. he doesn't entertain me like he used too.

the mixed tag match was WAY too short, should of been at least 10 more min. but the time they had, was good. nitro and carlito had what looked like a solid performance, I say 'what looked like' because they only had in-ring time for about 5 min...and I'm kindof enjoying the trish/melina feud.

next was the 3 man tag. since the mixed tag was a let down I thought this would be MOTN, and I was wrong, again. both sides had a solid performance, but this match was boring, and slow. Plus, not one of the three feuds in that match were built. at all.

the DX spirit squad elimination match' was, like I said above, "predictable" at best. Even though some of you picked the SS to win, I think we though in the back of our head that DX could, and might reign victorious. never once have I seen so many super-kicks, and pedigrees that fast. and it got to the point where you could call it before it happened. the segment before, wasn't needed. but I guess they just wanted a cheap pop.

big show/khali/undertaker...I can't wait..>_>

bikini bull riding contest, only the finals were on the show, boy was that over-hyped. and another waste of..5 min. that didn't even start a feud, or anything.

edge/cena, the only match I thought I might enjoy after the other two went down the drain..and I was wrong again! slow paced action to start it off, then a missed superplex by edge, 6 moves of doom by cena, and a lita interference. Fantastic. however, at least cena didn't win cleanly..or I would of been really mad.

I don't have a MOTN, because I don't think there is one. I wasn't very pleased with this show at all...

The show had a lot of potention, IMO, and unfortunetly it did not live up to what it could have been. I think it ended as an average WWE show as of late. The show really did not hold my attention and I would not be surprised if we do not see another SNME.

  • D-X VS. Spirt Squad
Had D-X won the match in another fashion, it would have been good. However, with them winning with a shutout, it was ultimately pointless and uninteresting. I do believe the Spirit Squad really should have won that match. I did like the D-X talking over the McMahon/Spirit Squad pep talk.
  • John Cena VS. Edge.
Well Cena is not champ again, that is a plus. I do think the match should have been allowed to continue. I did like the FU through the table at the end, but that's it.
  • Batista, Mysterio & Lashley VS. Booker, Henry & Finlay
This match was good. I think the whole match was played out good, and ended the best way it should have. I think this was probably my favorite match.
  • Hogan, Brooke & Randy
Well Randy gave the RKO to Hogan like I thought he would. The segment should not have gotten two spots on the air though. Also, seeing Brooke's video was a complete waste.
  • Bikini Bull Riding Contest
Anoter waste of time. If they had shown more then just the finals live, then it would not of been as bad. Probably still would have been a waste though.
  • Sabu VS. Stevie Richards
Complete waste of time. The sole fault for this match was the fact that they has Sabu face Richards. If it had been given a bit more time with those two, then it might have been ok.
I still think that Show, Flari or Foley should have been in the match.
  • Trish & Carlito VS. Melina & Nitro
A good match and the right team was given the win in the end. I think it should have been given a bit more time, this could have turned out to be one of the best matches in a while.
  • Undertaker, Kahli & Show
  • Yet another waste of time. It was cool to actually see Taker make an appearnce, but everything else was just plain annoying. I do believe that this might hint towards Kahli winning at GAB.

Wasn't a bad show overall. And you people who are saying "WWE won't have another SNME for a long time" you might want to read the contract between NBC Universal and WWE that says WWE can show two specials a year on NBC. Plus NBC has crappy Saturday ratings all night until SNL anyways so anything with more than a 1.0 rating can only be an improvement.

Now the big question is, has the WWE done enough for NBC to give them another Saturday Night's Main event? Please post your thoughts on this everybody

I think it will largely depend on the ratings from this show and whether or not, the WWE has improved over the next couple of months or whether or not they have gone backwards

I do believe if we do see another Saturday Night's Main Event, it will be in Early November, one of the first 2 Saturday's, which are November 4th and 11thRvdecwthug1976

Well, I didn't actually see the show, so I'm no judge on that front, but I believe WWE is entitled to more SNMEs simply because I believe they are contractually obligated to get them in their deal with NBC/USA.  The real question is will they get Prime Time again, or will they get bumped to a later timeslot.

Hmm, I never knew anything about that being in their contract, they do not deserve another Saturday night's main event until they improve their product.

If it does come back, I would rather see them bumped up to a later timeslot, like 10pm

  • Mysterio, Lashley, Batista vs. King Booker, Mark Henry, Finlay- 6/10, good match to get Batista back in the ring although he didn't do much, could have been better though.
  • Carlito & Trish Stratus vs. Johnny Nitro & Melina- 6/10, decent match, not much else I can say.
  • DX vs. Spirit Squad- 7/10, entertaining.
  • Sabu vs. Stevie Richards- 4/10, I don't see the point of putting a squash match on SNME but I guess it served its purpose.
  • Bikini Bull Riding Contest- 1/10, no point.
  • WWE Championship: Edge vs. John Cena- 8/10, decent match and an awesome ending
  • Promos/Other- 7/10
  • Overall- 6/10
