Other than Disel & Vince McMahon, JBL is the worse WWE Champion ever and I thought that from the moment Kurt Angle announced him as new WWE Champion. Him being the WWE Champion for 5 seconds was enough for me to realize he was the worst WWE Champion ever (not counting Disel, Vince) and still would have been the worse WWE Champion ever (whether had been for 10 seconds or 10 months).

Same goes for OJ, he is the single worst US Champion in the belt's 30 year history (and that is tracking a lof of ground).

I'll define recent as being the name change from WWF-WWE.

• WWE Champion: Nothing good came from JBL's Title reign. Even the pay-off of JBL losing the Title sucked.
• World Heavyweight Champion: I'd love to honestly be able to say Triple H, I really would, but Orton's title reign just flopped too hard. On the bright side, I can still BTH for that one too.
• US Champion: Orlando Jordan, easily.
• Intercontinental Champion: Stiff competition here, but Randy Orton pulls a double header. He held the title for, like, 8 months and defended the title like 4 times.
• Cruiserweight Champion: Jaqueline.
• WWE Tag Team Champions: Legion of Dumb. To think the first WWE Tag Team Champions were Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle.
• World Tag team Champions: During one of their reigns, La Resistance was defeated single-handidly, easily, by Batista, who then shoved a flag up their butts. That is some Arquette level disgrace there. It is up there with Judy Bagwell, WCW Tag Team Champion.

1. vs Rob Van Dam: Rematch of Orton's Title Victory.
2. vs Mick Foley (December 2003): Orton wins via countout.
3. vs Cactus Jack (Backlash in APRIL!)
4. vs Shelton Benjamin
5. vs Edge, where he loses the title!

If you can remember any more, please enlighten me. However, 5 defenses spread over 7 months does not make for a great champion, IMO.

I also disagree with your assesment that he brought meaning back to the belt. The belt was an afterthought to his feud with Mick Foley. He didn't even defend the title at Wrestlemania XX. The belt didn't matter to Orton at all. He could have been in the exact same position without the title. He held the belt way too long, and IMO, did nothing to elevate it in that time. For Orton, it was a glorified beltbuckle, not an item of prestige.

I can totatlly understand where you are coming, but for my own personal enjoyment, he brought back meaing to the IC Championship and I enjoyed him being IC Champion.
