well most of the criticisms have to do with the design, it looks like a n64 cartridge glued on top of a super nintendo cartridge... people bashed the hell out of the vita at 1st thinking it was too big and wouldn't fit in their pocket... just look at this thing, should have kept the flip design and maybe just changed it up a bitI dunno, I just instantly assumed from the design that they were targetting the tablet market, yet everyone is instantly jumping on the whole "it's made for kids" thing. I guess I just don't see that? :?
Because Nintendo claimed that the 2DS was made for children seven and younger, because the 3D seems to hurt children of that age fairly consistently. Keep in mind Nintendo over the past two years have made some really, idiotic PR statements (More so from Sakurai, the Smash series creator, and Reggie than anything else). Obviously the 2DS is also for people who simply don't want to use the 3D at all or have an issue with the 3D (My friend has problems seeing 3D on anything, and she's 27).
But yeah, I don't like the design at all either. Someone made a pretty good comparison to it being shaped like a slice of bread, lol. Also one of the cool things about the SP, DS, and 3DS was the ability to protect your screen. I don't have a 3DS yet and I already decided that I was going to get this version when available anyway since I run a Youtube channel. Though if I weren't, I would've considered the 2DS, but I think the design is really that bad, lol.
The problem is easily fixable though... Turn the 3D off. In fact, it starts off, and there is simply no reason to turn it on. The 3DS games don't require it, so all parents have to do is turn it off. Yes, kids will likely toy with it because they can, but the fact the 2DS is being made for this kids is stupid, because THE 3D CAN BE TURNED OFF.
Then there is the design... Honestly, I just don't see the 2DS doing good at all.Â
Yup. But the idea of the 2DS would've been fine if the design was alright. People will see it as a cheaper version of the DS missing a feature that many people will never use.
With an ugly design. If they just kept the design they've been using, all would be good... But the 2DS isn't portable. You'd have to buy a satchel in order to carry it around any where.Â
Yup. It's a giant, loaf of bread shaped tablet with two screens.
