As i read the preview of NG Black, i see the quote, "widow-making gameplay" used in regard to the 1st xbox Ninja Gaiden. Like my topic states: OMG, Ninja Gaiden was not that hard!!
Plz reply, hopefully someone will agree with me. thnx
I cant even beat the demo... :cry:neutralx2
Ninja Gaiden is not hard simply put. It's just a challenge which is lacking in most games now. Games are being made way too easy. It's nice to see one where you actually die quite abit.gears_of_war

i find that extremely hard to believe that you only die 4 times in hard games

i still stand by what i said to this day. i have beaten the game and the 2nd stage boss was by far the hardestchris121580
I didn't find it hard, I found it to be challenging at points, but as far as hardness goes it's nothing compared to some of the old NES games I have.

Most hard NES games are just unfair hard, NG is just challenging, its more of a trail and error thing. (In very hard NES games you have to be lucky sometimes).
Well, I didnt think it was hard as in "OMG I'm never gonna finish this game" But it was (and still is) a challenge. and It gives you a sence of pride when you get to the end. Most games these days, you get to the end and go.. ok.. thats it... eh hmm... ok...
I'm on my first try throughthe very hard mode now, andIi'm already dreading the bosses that still ahve to come, altough I also started on DMC 3 not long ago and thats nice and challenging too 8)
I did get suprised at all the "OMG Ninja gaiden is too hard" comments.. To me a game is too hard when you see no way of getting through a stage no matter what you do, and in NG you always have the scense that concentrating, perfecting moves, and becoming better at the game will get you through in the end.

Thats true, Even though NG was chalenging, Ghosts and Goblins on NES still stands as the hardest game I've ever completed, looking back I have no idea how the heck I did it..

I think everyone has a different boss they think is hardest, for some reason I had the hareds time with the first boss, Alma the one most people say was so hard wasnt so hard for me, I was very dissapionted with the last boss though, that was way to easy. I hope the fix that in NGB..
I agree. On normal difficulty, I would describe the game as challenging. It's going to test you, but there aren't any obstacles that you can't overcome if you persevere. The higher difficulties and the Hurricane packs are another story though, and I think that this is what they were probably alluding to in the Gamespot article.I didn't find it hard, I found it to be challenging at points, but as far as hardness goes it's nothing compared to some of the old NES games I have.
