I think what 'they' mean by dead is that gaming has moved on and left it behind. Many people in our fast moving consumer society are only interested in what is new, and only as long as it is new. It is these people who have branded the XBox dead and will kill of the PS3 and 360 as soon as something else arrives. To be fair they do have a point as they are a large part of the market and when they move on the game developers move on and follow the money.
As long as some of us are still playing the old consoles they are not completely dead, although it hardly seems worth arguing the toss, but the main reason people make these statements is to tell the world they are so cutting edge that they wouldn't be seen dead using such an obsolete piece of electronics. So you see it is all about them, and only partially about the console.
its dead since last year i still bought it to fill up my collection xD
almost have all consoles expect xbox 360 and PS3
Xbox production had ceased on August 2005.
Yeah, XBox is indeed officially DEAD in retail. But I'm still playing mine to this day :D
Ebay is the best way to get one, NEW. Â

DrEru is so correct on this matter. A console never really dies if someone is still playing it. Many people have moved on but even if they have moved on there are still people who got the newer consoles that play the older consoles still and I'm one of them. I can go all the way back to my Atari 2600 I got in 82 and play it today and all the game systems I've had in between.Â
Kirk: How's the Xbox Bones?
 Bones: He's dead Jim.
Kirk: KAHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
XBOX IS DEAD I NEVER PLAY IT ANY MORE. THE ONLY REASON I HATE IT SO MUCH NOW IS BECAUSE THERE ARE NO NEW GAMESÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

i got a question everyone says that xbox is dead but on the xbox page scroll down to most popular and on a tab it says up coming click and there's quite a few games and some seem pretty cool so whats the deal?cheater910it may dead in that first party games have more or less stopped but unlike with the ps2, i felt that the graphical power of the xbox was neverfully used in games like fifa except only fully used in fps's only. this just shows that the xbox will fade away before it really reached it's true peak.
