Understanding of course that some people use under 720p, or possibly 1080p, but this poll is just for these two resolutions.

Also make sure to say why you use said resolution over the other.

For those basically ruining the poll due to oversight, please note that it says 1080i, not 1080p.

I can't tell difference between 720p and 1080p so i just to stick to 720 because it runs smoother at 60FPS compare to 24 FPS on 1080P? ( someone can correct me if im wrong. )

720p, most games run at 720p and sometimes less but above 480p at least.

I set my Xbox to 720p. For some reason 1080i looks sort of blurry when my games are running. 720p just seems perfect. Other then that I can't tell the difference between the two.

720p, since it's the native resolution of almost all HD games.

resolution isnt a deciding factor. some games look better at 480p than 1080i but 720p is superior to all resolutions except 1080p

Most games run at 720p. If I could think of at least 5 games that ran at 1080p then I would switch it to 1080p. I thought people know this already? Oh well. :P

720p for me, first reason being that most games are no more than 720p anyway and second my tv is only 720p so 1080 is a bit useless

http://alvyray.com/DigitalTV/Naming_Proposal.htm 720p is like having 1440i where 1080i is like having 540p. Which is better? 720p. What do I use? 720p.

I run 720p because most games don't run a native resolution for higher than that, especially on the Xbox 360. That being said, the games generally have better frame rates in 720p opposed to 1080i.

I use 1080i but thats cos of my rubbish old HDTV, it struggles in 720p for some reason. If you can though, defo go with 720p as most games run native in that resolution.

1080i, never really compared it with 720p.
After reading this topic using 720p sounds better.

If I was ever in a situation where I had to choose between 1080i and 720p the best option is obviously 720p, it has a smoother frame rate.

I choose the Optimal Resolution setting on my tv which sets the resolution to 1360x768. It works better for my TV because it doesn't overscan like when I set it to 720p or 1080i.

Also, yes I know that isn't what your asking (1080i vs. 720p).

I say...

1080i on a screen that is smaller (because interlase is more visible when the screen is big??)

720p on a bigger TV (although ironicly big TVs nowaday have 1080p)

Actually, some do. Mine is 720p, but it will accept a 1080p input. It just doesn't actually display at 1080p, but scales it down to 720p. I just double checked to make sure I wasn't mistaken, and my 360 is set to 1080p right now and working.

I use 1080i with HDMI cable set at Expanded and YCbCr709, I read that it provides the best display quality and am inclined to agree from my own experiences.

Well some people only have old HDTV that could do 480P/1080i or newer ones that only do 720P/1080i. So they don't want to spend an extra grand for a new tv right now.

Or, when I say "Xbox's that don't use HDMI" I mean ones literally without the port, not that I should have to clarify to this point just to get people to answer the topic properly. Sheesh, why do some people insist on being an annoyance and completely avoiding the whole point of a topic? Is it the only reason they come in and post?

My TV is 1080i, so I use the 1080i. It looks just the slightest bit better than 720p, at least to me, on my TV.
