I think Gears of War 2 will get it because it is turning out to look amazing and better in every aspect. That is just my opinion what do you think?

If I had to pick one out of the many contenders this year(and don't be stupid, there are plenty)I'd have to give it to Gears 2. I mean the first one won countless awards for Game of The Year '06, and I think it would be great for it to snag it again this year. I mean, it's not like Cliff doesn't need to get any more cocky, haha.

It's basically Metal Gear Solid 4 vs. Gears 2 vs. Fallout 3 vs. Grand Theft Auto 4 (which I doubt will win)...I vote MGS4 until I've played gears 2 ;D

I'd like to think maybe Left 4 Dead but there doesn't seem enough hype. Could be a surpise if story is done well

Whenever a GOTY thread pops up, a lot of people pick Gears 2. Are you aware that Gears of War was the first shooter to win Game of the Year from GameSpot in over a decade? So not only would lightning have to strike twice on the same genre, but on the same franchise. This actually ocurred in 1999 and 2003 with Zelda, but honestly, I really don't see it happening with Gears, given the paucity of shooters in the GOTY category.

I would probably go with GTAIV because of it's replay value and appeal, but I doubt it will mainly because they have taken some stuff out and under the shiny coat, it is pretty much the same game. I also have a feeling about MGS4 and Gears 2...

I think I will actually say MGS4 because of it's graphics, storytelling and gameplay.

I hope that Mirrors Edge will. Sadly, It won't, but GTA IV will, due to the amount of praise Gamespot gave it. And with the DLC coming up around christmasish, gamespot will be reminded that it still exists amongst all the new releases.

Gta4 was the most over-hyped over-rated pile of **** ever. Worst of the series. I'd rather play GTA london while my eyeballs boil and I get a finger chisled off every 4 minutes. Animal crossing will be game of the year....... naaaa GoW2 of course
