Resident Evil stopped becoming horror after the first f*cking level of 4, when the infected people (or should I just say messed up Spanish guys who your white ass decided to commit genocide on) can be blown apart by your shotgun within the first 20 minutes of gameplay.
Call of Cthulu: Dark Corners of the Earth is all the horror I need in my gaming experience, it kicks the sh*t out of most games on the current market.
sorry but resident 5 comes out next year, that will be the year of horror.ronniepage588
i dont think that re5 should be considered a horror game since it CLOSELY follows RE4 and that game was NOT scary... but it was fun. maybe the blind guy that jumps into the cage with you could be considered "scary" but its mostly a "damn it" moment. The only part that was actually kind of scary was the guy in the fridge.
im not bashing re5 or saying its not ganna be good. it just doesnt seem like a "scary" game.
Fun... but not scary.
Silent Hill seems to have taken the route RE4 did and make it more about action and less about fear and story so all of them except that.dukebd699
Nope, not at all. Homecoming is still very much a Silent Hill game.

Agreed. I love RE4, but RE is no longer "horror", imo.
Most looking forward to Left 4 Dead
Dead Space looks great, but I don't have any money :(
I haven't seen really anything about Silent Hill
......
And 2009 has RESIDENT EVIL 5!!!!
Went out and recently bought Silent Hill 2 -4, and planning on Amazoning SH1. Playing through SH 2 currently and the plan is to finish all 4 games, and then purchasing SHH. So that's my choice :) everything else idc bout or I'll be gone for the Air Force Basic training so I won't have a chance till probably february or March of next year.
And I know I'm a little late on the SH train but I always wanted to play them when I was younger just never had a chance and with the recent release of #5 it just gave me enough motivation :) And my friend is a big SH fan so that added to the hype.
2008 is the year of horror
i wonder if they are going to make a game about the economic collapse and people having to fend for themselves and protect their homes from invaders..going out searching for food...etc

You are referring to I Am Alive... go watch the trailer and you will realize your game description is a reality.

Ah yes, the new project from Jade Raymond. Lets just hope it's slightly less repetitive than Assassin's Creed, because I love the premise of it.
