Uhm. It looks like the Red Ring Of Death (RROD). And as for the power supply its probarbly just responding to the Red Lights. I strongly suggest you get a second oppinion, and get your warranty ready, just in case.

From my experience the power supply is always orange. You need to look up the difference between RROD and bad powersupply though. They both have similar diagnosis. Unfortunatly it sounds like you need a new Xbox or repare. If you have a warranty use it ASAP. If not, now is the perfect time of year for a good deal. Good luck!

I had 2 Xbox' that went RROD -first the arcade, which I got repaired and it bit the dust like 7-8 months later and the next one was a Premium I think, which died quite recently. Loved my 360's but I finally bought a PC instead, 'cause I know how to maintain and repair it when something happens. I still use the contollers though :)

You can try resting it for some time and turning it back on but it may work just for few weeks if not days more.

Having the video cable unplugged from the Xbox gives a similar signal to rrod. Check the connections.

Those are bad news, thats called the red roid of death, and as you see, by the name, that means the xbox is slowly dying, you must grab a can of mr pib and dump it on the xbox to end its suffering!!!!

Just kidin :) , but those are still bad news...
