Not sure how this happened but, I got home from school and other stuff at aroudn 5 last night, for some reason my 360 was on and frozen on the intro movie for crackdown. I thought my mom probably hit it when she was doing something in my room..but why it was frozen I had no idea.

So I eat dinner come back, go to play some Crackdown when the game starts up..and freezes on the start-up screen. Oh great....I restart....nothing happens but the 3 Red lights.

It seems I can get the system to work when I play with the AV cable..but then it crashes after 30 seconds or it freezes. I switched it to TV and it worked, but I turned if off before I experienced any crashes or freezes, so I switched it back to HD..thats when it would work for 30 seconds than freeze

So I have the extended warranty for Best Buy (this is my 2nd Xbox console) and I was wondering if I get a new one, will I be able to keep my harddrive...because before it had some weird error and the dumbasses at Best Buy thought it was the harddrive, since the harddrive "boots" everything int he computer, it must be the same for an Xbox 360 (since it would boot but nothing would show up) Then some guy who plays a 360 knows how they work put my old harddrive on the new 360 and it worked..now 6 months later..i have the 3 red lights

any help?

oh and also I think it could be an over-heating problem since , although not hitting the 360 or right on it, about a foot back and a foot below my 360 is a heating vent, but I've had game consoles there for years and no over heating problems and I let my 360 sit for about 10 minutes after I recently played witht he AV cable and its really hot, so it's either the AV cable or over heating, not sure which

They shouldn't make you return the hard drive. Unless the problem itself is caused directly by the hard drive (To check it just take it out then try turning it on and seeing what happens.) but is highly unlikely since I think and HD failure would result in your whole 360 crashing but just a loss game saves etc.

Anyway if you get it repaired by Microsoft they will tell you to remove and keep the hard drive when you send it back to them.

lucky ba****d my 360 got 3 red lights but the power light is green . I hadnt done anything to it apart from take the memory unit to a friends but it worked fine there. Came home and this happens plus Ive only just got the pyramat sound lounger but I cant play Gears on it cause of my console is bust. I have Sent an email to microsoft but thats taking ages. Plus the download patch for WOW is taking friggin ages. If you know how to fix my problem please contact me in the Brocken Xbox topic!
