I'm curious whether the built-in wifi adapter is compatible with wireless-n routers. I would assume that it is, but I haven't seen any specification that would indicate that. Anyone have some insight?
I got my slim at Gamestop for around $169
$50 trade in for 2 controllers
$100 trade in for Xbox
$1 trade in for cooling fan
$30 trade in for 20gb hard drive.
They make you buy the new 360 first, in California with taxes comes out to about $338. I had to buy a charger for $12 plus tax because I didn't have my charger for my wireless controllers. The guy behind me was going to buy the xbox if i didn't so i just forked over the extra money.
338+12-50-100-1-30 = $169
It was about two dollars cheaper though because I'm not using exact change on everything.
The wireless device in the new 360 is 802.11n. So it's made for a wireless-n router.I'm curious whether the built-in wifi adapter is compatible with wireless-n routers. I would assume that it is, but I haven't seen any specification that would indicate that. Anyone have some insight?

I'd be happy to trade by my beast in for the new redesigned one. Co worker has one in office and it is whisper quiet compared to mine, and radiates little heat after being on all day.AlizerothreeWait, what kind of officer worker has an Xbox 360S in their cubical?(A SMART ONE)

I would like to have the slim xbox 360 because i like the look and the added features of the wi fi with the bigger hard drive space. If i was rich with deep pockets then i would buy one in a second, unfortunately i am not and i am on my 3rd xbox 360. I think they should give me the new xbox 360 for free with the amount of money i have already given microsoft. http://hdtvandgaming.blogspot.com hdtvandgamingtry to have one, the new xobx360 is better in every aspect.
Gonna trade in my ELITE for one, it still works great but want to get rid of some noise and the new one looks cool. Bonus is the built in WIFI. Where is the best place to trade one in? Gamestop?SKATAMANif you live in US, try gamestop, they are offering trade in deal which is nice.

They won't honor the deal if they don't have any to trade in for. Nice deal, but pretty much sucks if you haven't gotten it done already because the deal will likely expire by the time they get a new shipment.

Man, I'm going to see If I can get a good trade deal. My question is: do games still get scratched when it's standing vertically? I know they can get scratched when you change your 360s position while it's on. A friend of mine told me that if the 360 is standing vertically it can get scratched, but I don't know if that's true.
im almost positive thats not true.Man, I'm going to see If I can get a good trade deal. My question is: do games still get scratched when it's standing vertically? if you move it while its spinning a disk you will definantly scratch it. if you don't move it, it won't scratch. that simple
that is not true , what true is that the xbox360 can scratch discs either vertically or horizontally doesnt make a difference, and that comes from a personal experience , of course the scratches will be minimum and if you install the game on the hard drive then you shouldn't worry about it as the disc rarely spins when playing installed games.Man, I'm going to see If I can get a good trade deal. [QUOTE="MassiveKaos"]yes, the new xbox does have the component port, you dont worry about that :) Woot then slim is a must buy!. My 360s manufacture date was june 16 2006 so im suprised it last that long. Ill just keep doing what i did with the slim =) (keep it vertical, buy a window, a fan blowing on it everytime i play and give it regular breaks while playing.). Lol it could have still been working tho. The power came off 4 times that day then after it kept freezing up and eventually yeah... later in the dayDoes the slim have a component port?
