I don't have a 360, but would like one in the future. I don't think the title i'm using for my thread is that accurate, but I do want people's attention on this. To put it simply, i know about the RRoD cuz it happened to 2 of my friends. 360 has many more tiitles at the present time and great graphics. I know there is more to a console than that, but its a solid basis. The question I have is what do you see as the greatest pluses to having one and what are the greatest dislikes you have and do you think the positives outwiegh the negatives. Your honest open opinions please.

-You can turn on the consoe from your couch

Negatives

-Not very reliable

So yea, looks like the posatives outweigh the negatives.

the only negative is the hardware, but thats covered by MS with a 3 FREAKING year warranty, and most of hardware problems are gone if your buying the system now, and once they include the new chips, you dont have to worry about anything.

its the best system you can buy this gen, plain and simple. and the game line-up speaks for its self

Not really. Microsoft just extended the warranty so if you have a problem, call customer support, they'll send you a box, and ship it then they do all the rest. I've had one suffer from hardware failure, and it took a little less than 2 weeks to get back to me. Microsoft is actually taking care of it's customer base right now unlike Sony did when I had a PS2....turds.

the 360 is an all around great system for gaming and other multimedia, reliability being the only issue was vleaned up by exstending the warranty to 3 yrs, so you win no matter what.

Sony's customer service with my PS3 was astounding! I received the box in about 8 business days. When Isent itbackon a Saturday, I got it back that Thursday! Well, it seems MS is taking steps to resolving the hardware issue. I guess I'm just a bit hesitant to get the 360 because its for the "north american gamer". I like the japanese style games more. I'm an RPG head. It Knights of The Old Republic 3 is anounced, I will buy it that day! Loved the first one!!!!

I personally dont see any negatives at all with the 360 due to the fact that ive never had hardware failures so that negative doesnt apply to me. Ive been very satisfied with the 360 and how great its games and features are.

Oh buddy, you should really check out the game, Mass Effect. It's by the same people who made the original KOTOR, and it's exclusive to the 360.

Highs:

- Head start = wider selection of quality next-gen games

- Gears of War, BioShock (I'm not a Halonut, but if you are than add that here)

- Live/Marketplace (very nice service)

- It really does double as a space heater in the winter time

- better message forums

Lows:

-Games are mostly shooter/sports biased (I actually don't mind but it does feel uncreative)

- Unreliable (I'm on 360 #4. So it hasn't been just a couple of weeks its more like over 2 months of down-time since I bought my launch console. And my 4thone doesn't even have the new upgrades so who knows how long it will last. Not only is that a long time...these breaks can come at bad times, like when GRAW/GRAW2/Saints Rowcame out.) I'm really hoping it makes it through this holiday season.

- My compensation for my troubles was Kameo and a 1-month Live card (and I guess you can include the warranty extension) Better than nothing...but weak.

- You have to pay to play over Live

- The Elite

- The cost of repairs probably prevents a price drop.
