I had a PS3 and it would overheat after maybe 20 minutes. With high end technology, there's no real guarentee. That's what a extended warranty is for. But I do agree with you. Microsoft really needs to offer money back guarentee's in these cases. Why would you want to buy a new Xbox, have it break, then them send you a used one instead of a new one?
That's exactly how I am feeling but, I like Gears 3 & COD3. All of my son's games are on 360.I guess hoping that I purchase a good one this time around IDK. Love hate relationship with one hell of a decision. With driftingsilvia having overheating issues on PS3. Me not having much experience with PS3. Is it worth the switch, is the PS3 more reliable, whats PS3 support like? FOR THE LOVE OF GOD lol. Does anyone have the facts?I had a PS3 and it would overheat after maybe 20 minutes. I bought a 360 slim 250gb 6 months ago and it took a crap 18 days ago. I followed to return procedure and received a refurbished 360 slim. Whole process took maybe 14 days. I update the console after the standard set up and after about 15 minutes of gameplay the game freezes with a disc read error. Now the game is flawless just out of the case. It don't really bother me so much so I just restart and try again only this time it freezes. Now I'm getting mad and this continues for about an hour just trying to troubleshoot with MS tech support. The conclusion is I send it back again after just receiving it. This means my son doesn't get to play the games I bought him for Christmas. This makes me feel like **** and MS customer support can only say SORRY (no compensation). SOOOO the big question is should breakdown buy another Xbox that will possibly break in 5-6 months or switch to a ps3? I don't want this to be a vs thread just some straight forward facts or other peoples experiences with the same problem and out come. BTW the game is taken very good care of with good ambient temps, no dust, adult used, and ventilation. Do any ps3 owners out there have this problem with their console and whats is Sony's support like?Gorillafunk1) You asked people on the PS3 forum to come and find this topic and answer the question, but you couldn't be bothered to post a link to it. 2) I think this thread belongs in System Wars. 3) English please.
Wait isn't it getting fixed as we speak? if the dvd drive is the issue you could easily fix it yourself. I wouldn't give up on the xbox personally since its a good console, no matter what you are buying these days you run the risk of buying a dud and my rule is if there is a slight issue early on I demand a replacement from the shop (generally I find if you get through the first 6 months trouble free with any electronics you are safe).
I wouldn't switch to a PS3 if it means you have to rebuy your sons library.
Yeah I wasn't being biased at all. PS3 is a great system too. Each have their flaws, you just gotta weigh your pros and cons as to what you want or just have both.
with the recent "slim" version of the xbox and ps3 i see equal number of faulty units returned to my shop. that is to say i see VERY few now. most are DOA (dead on arrival). please make sure u allow these machines at least 30cm (12") of breathing space around the vents and dont be afraid to stick ur vaccuum nozzle on the vents to clear out dust. honestly without knowing the situation i would have to say this is made up or your own fault.
Sorry.
