When you turn on the 360, hold down the wireless sync button, and while you are holding it, press the eject button. The ring of light will then flash 1, 2, 3, or 4 lights. Press the eject button 3 more times, and record the number of flashing lights you get each time. The result will be something like 4142 or 4424. Post it here.

  • Turn the xbox 360 on, and wait till the 3 red lights are flashing.
  • Press and hold the sync up button (the small white one), while holding that button press the eject button.
  • The LEDs will now blink the first number in the code (as described below).
  • Release the eject button and press it again.
  • The LEDs will now blink the second number of the code.
  • Release the eject button and press it again.
  • The LEDs will now blink the third number of the code.
  • Release the eject button and press it again.
  • The LEDs will now blink the forth number of the code.
  • Release the eject button and press it again.
  • The LEDs will go back to the 3 red flashing lights.

What the hell is this all about?

If you have 3 flashing lights, send it to microsoft for repairs.

Let me put it this way:

3 Red Lights = Console is experiencing a hardware failure, caused by multiple systems failing simultaneously

What to do = Restart the console. If the same problem occurs again, contact Xbox customer support!

I seriously still don't know what the hell those codes are needed for...

than stay out of it! the codes tell you an exact problem it may not be hardware failure. It could be a dvd drive issue, ext.

because a) i can look at the whole index of codes and it may be something simple that i can fix or b) i can tell the support people the code allowing my support ticket to go on through quicker.. but man honestly if you cant say anything to help me out please dont say anything cause its kinda lame to post in a thread when your not really contributing anything and allow the people who are helping do there thing
