For me: Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones
Came with my xbox and I ended up beating both of them....

Mass Effect- I know it sounds weird, but I was never into the whole scifi shooter thing(I like ballistic ammunition). But I promised my brother that is MP was confirmed for ME3 that I'd play through the whole series. I never did finish ME2, but Mass Effect was by far the most powerful RPG I'd played in years.
LEGO Star Wars Complete Saga - got roped into playing it by my kids, and we all enjoyed it immensely.
Mirror's Edge. I played through the demo a few times and really liked it. Didn't really plan on buying the full game until I saw it in a shop on the cheap, it was such a blast and I felt very satisfied after completing it.
WET: Bought it for 6 bucks on amazon, just for the price. It was fun.
Battlefield 3: Bought it last week, just to see how it was (even though I hated B2:BC) and I'm having tons of fun. I fully understand the compalints against MW3 now...
Oblivion and Alan Wake: bought them to see what all the fuzz was about... fell in love with both (AW is one of the best games this gen).
Excellent EXCELLENT game. I still hold it has the best soundtrack ever compiled for a videogame. I actually went out and bought an album from one of the bands on the soundtrack, I liked it so well.WET: Bought it for 6 bucks on amazon, just for the price. It was fun.

Bioshock. didnt care for it when it came out. a while later, i found it at gamestop for pretty cheap. figured what the hell? played for like 45 minutes and couldnt get into it. couple months later was bored and decided to try it out again. loved it.
Skyrim. my nieces dad was living with us for a while. he had bought skyrim. and i watched him play it, it looked boring and uninteresting to me. he then made me play the first 20 or so minuntes of the game. basically try it out before i judged it. i then fell in love with the game. it became my fourth game ive gotten all cheevos on. when he moved out he let me keep the game:D
Dead Island. similar to bioshock. i played it for about 45 minutes and lost interest. months later i tried it out again and loved it. the atmosphere is great.

After reading this comment, I went and watched some gameplay footage on Youtube and it looks AWESOME. I am getting this at Gamestop tomorrow when I get paid. And also Gamestop has a buy 2 get 1 free deal so maybe I'll grab a couple others :)
Bioshock 2. Didn't like the first one. Great story but simply boring to play, in my opinion. Found the sequel online for $10 and it ended up beign one of my favorite shooters of all time. I don't understand the hate it gets, the story may not be quite up to par with the original, but it's still good, and everything else was literally MILES better. Excellent game.
I'd have to agree on Alan Wake. I was so surprised.WET: Bought it for 6 bucks on amazon, just for the price. It was fun.

I'd have to say Dynasty Gundam and Alice Madness returns.
Two games I thought I would NEVER play lol but I played the crappie outnof both lol
hmm I'd say 'Full Auto' bought for me by a friend yeaars ago for a bday.. has bargain basement written alll over it really, but i actually liked it .. for a while anyway.
I guess I'll say Borderlands. I really didn't see what was so great about it so I didn't pick it up when it came out even though all my friends did. It was probably a year later when I found it for $20. At first it didn't do much for me, but after leveling up and finding some pretty cool weapons, I started to enjoy it. I still don't think the story is anything great but still had some fun with it.BiThBhE0Borderlands is one of my favorite current gen games and was my 2nd favorite game of 2009
if you were asking what was a game that i thought i was going to enjoy it but didn't it would be borderlands, although i haven't played it that much maybe like 3 hours total. I enjoyed it a little but just lost interestleathaltacoWow. You have to stick with it. Trust me. The star of the game is the creative weaponry, which takes quite a while to start appearing with abundance, but if you had a higher attention span and kept with Borderlands, you would likely love it
[QUOTE="_TheJoker_"]I'd have to agree on Alan Wake. I was so surprised. Why were people so surprised about Alan Wake. I saw the potential in it immediately and it was the reason I bought an xbox360WET: Bought it for 6 bucks on amazon, just for the price. It was fun.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I had never heard of this game, and seen a demo of it on Xbox Live. For no reason at all I decided to download it and give it a shot, and within two minutes of starting I was blown away. Some serious blockbuster moments in the first level alone. I went to Gamestop the next day, and they just happened to be having a sell on Enslaved (due to the game not selling so well.), brand new copies, for $15. I grabbed it immediately and never looked back. By the way, the full game is incredible. If you can, check it out.CarnageV1
That is the exact same story i went through with Enslaved :)
