I totally forgot about that one. To me, it seemed like they watered down Assassin's Creed for the action game crowd. While in some cases that may have been true, it was still ten times the game I expected it to be- actionwise, mechanicswise, and especially storywise.

[QUOTE="BiThBhE0"]I guess I'll say Borderlands. I really didn't see what was so great about it so I didn't pick it up when it came out even though all my friends did. It was probably a year later when I found it for $20. At first it didn't do much for me, but after leveling up and finding some pretty cool weapons, I started to enjoy it. I still don't think the story is anything great but still had some fun with it.SkinnyJeans1995
Borderlands is one of my favorite current gen games and was my 2nd favorite game of 2009

Borderlands might be one of the best games I've played ever. Just so much fun. Borderlands 2 is gonna be great! Another game I'm throwing out there. The fable series is a game I thought would be horrible. Really is fun and amusing!

Arcania: Gothic 4 I'd heard how bad it was, and at the time needed something to play so borrowed it from my brother because I thought it might generate a few laughs. Turned out I really liked it.

Darksiders. I never intended to pick it up but decided to try it out and pick it up for 20$. I absolutely loved it and I'm more then exited for Darksiders 2.

Prince of Persia because I needed a new game and I liked the cel-shaded look... ended up loving it!
Also Far Cry 2. I rarely play FPS, but I was in the mood for one and somehow ended up with FC2... and loved it!
Makes me wonder how many really awesome games are out there that I have no that I'm missing :(

Oh, and one more really stands out... Ridge Racer V! I don't like racing games, but I was in Japan when the PS2 launched, so I picked it up because I needed a game to play. It ended up being one of my all-time favorite games, and I've been a big Ridge Racer fan ever since.

Halo 3.

My nephew wanted someone to co-op with and he begged me for days. I finally gave in. I then made him play 6 hours straight with me, lol.

Poor lil guy was exhausted at the end of the day, good times, good times.

Red Dead Redemption. At first the game looked bland and boring to me, but a few months later i picked it up for $40 and fell in love with it.

Dead Island... I didn't buy it when it came out because I was iffy on whether it would be any good. I was able to snag it for free and figured might as well right?! I love it! I am very suprised.. I wasn't thrilled at first with it but once I got going with the quests I began to like it more and more.

Mass Effect - got it for $30 at k-mart simply because it was $30 and i only had the combo pack that came with my system at the time ( forza 2/marvel ultimate alliance ) The Darkness II - i played the first one on PS3 had fun with it but never finished it, i made it to the last level but had to return it and never re-rented it, heard about the sequel and didnt really care since i never beat the first my brother came home with a rented copy of the darkness II for free from redbox for a day and i had the day off and beat it, loved every second of it

Bayonetta, Dante's Inferno, Lost Planet 2, Vanquish, Batman Arkham Asylum, Dirt 3 (which lead me to Dirt 2), and Just Dance on the Wii got me open to the idea of Dancing Games, and now I have both Dance Central titles for the Kinect.

Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, I tried Oblivion 3 separate times and couldn't get into it. IMO it had several flaws which they figured out, and got right in ES5: Skyrim (My GotY 2011, although Gears 3 and Dark Souls are right there with it).

I bought The Orange Box for Portal, and only for Portal. It took a few months for me to try it but after I played through Half-Life 2, it became my favorite game, and I've played through HL2, along with both episodes, at least once every 2 months for the last 4 years.
