A Gears 2 post of mine. please read.

I'm always hearing people complain about the game, yet the online thing that can back up what they say is that the multiplayer is bad. People don't even realize just HOW iconic this game is to the industry. My first point, horde! This game created one of my favorite co-op experiences of all time. And there have been plenty of games to branch off of Epic's idea. Games such as Call of Duty: World at War, Left 4 Dead, Halo 3: ODST, and Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Then there's the third person perspective in general. Do you know HOW many Gears knock-off there have been? Just to name a few: Wanted: Weapons of Fate, 50 Cent: Blood On the Sand, and Dark Sector. With game companies being influenced by their idead, you know Epic has done something truly amazing for the gaming indusrty and online gaming.

Since Gears 1 ive definitly seen a hell of alot more games use cover/blind fire systems but none have been as good as Gears.

so because the people at epic made a game with 3rd person view and everyone else said "hey! they made monney, lets copy them but make crappy games" we owe them a thank you for making a crappy second installment? And survival games have been around for much longer then horde, as well as the fact that Left 4 dead and Cod 5 were in development and already had these things planned before gears 2 "made" hoard.

Uhh Gears is heavily influenced by Namco's Kill.Switch

Yeah i love gears athough i will admit at times it can make you really mad but when everything is working right its a ton of fun.

i dont play it online but the campaign is to die for

I love the gears series but i think gears of war is better then gears of war 2 in every way. Bettersingleplayer, better multiplayer and ultimately lessfrustrating (no smoke grenades and you can't boot the glitchers). Horde is good though, I would love for every game to have a mode like that.

True ive never seen another dev come close to making a cover system work as well as it does on gears.

Also I think the weapons deseve a mention, Gears has some of the coolest weapons ive ever seen like the lancer, tourqe bow etc.

when i am playing gears of war 2 sometimes i get so angry and frustrated because it is a real difficult game to master, but when i am owning people is so good. i love to chainsaw and have shotgun battles. before i got the game everyone was talking about this game being laggy online but i played over 90 matches and have not seen a single game that lagged and i get into a game within 2 min. am i lucky or is does this happen to other people also? RealGameFan

no thats normal most of the games are straight yeah sometimes theres horrible lag but what game dosnt have that and they fixed the matchmaking problems when the game first came out it dosent take long to find a game. People just like to hate on good games gears is one of those.
