a great mistake!

i just bought MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE today for 12$, i wanted something new to play and i heard it was good, and i found out that if i download the new content for 10$ i get 8 new characters one being venom (one of my top three marvel characters ever).

so im playing the first level having a really great time and then i get to the point were you can pick you team, so im looking tho the pickable heros and who do i see?

venom! i hadnt bought the character pack yet so i was like "**** YEAH". turns out the lady behind the desk gave me the gold edition by mistake (sells for 26$) which is understandable sense the "GOLD EDITION" is so small you cant see it well.

not that big of a surprise but it felt really good after constantly being man handled by EB games time and time again.

She should get in trouble, she messed up. I don't really see how she could have given you the wrong price though, didn't she have to scan the barcode?

The barcode is on the box, the game is behind the counter. That is assuming that he got it used.

How is that taking advantage or her doing it? You decided to take the games back. You did not have to sell them. They tell you how much you are going to get from them. You have already paid for the games so you are essentially getting money back from what you have already paid for.

I had one of those great mistakes of my own a few weeks ago. I went to EB Games and picked a few games (RR6, NCAA:MM07, Arcade Hits Vol 1), each of which were $4.99. I figured that I'd pickup Dead Rising along with those games, as I've been wanting that game for a long time. The EB Games employee who rang up my bill ended up double-scanning one of the games which were $4.99, and I got Dead Rising for $4.99 instead of $29.99. I noticed it as I was punching in my debit code, but I just moved faster and got out of there before he could catch his mistake. I've been in there many times since and nobody ever said a word. It's not the most honest thing I've done, but I don't really care. That's what EB Games gets for putting stickers all over their games, and selling me brand new games with stickers on the cover and games that have been opened but are considered 'brand new'.

Yeah, I agree with you there. I've finally gotten use to the stickers, but I still hate them. That's my only real problem with EB Games.

MISTAKE! Seriously though Gamestop employees are terrible about gmaes in the same series (or in your case just a different version of the same game.) For example, one day I bought Midway Arcade Classics 3 which is the racing games one and they gave me the first Midway Arcade Classics, which I didnt discover until I got home and I never took them back. Same thing happened when I bought the Top Spin/NCAA 05 disc, but that time I caught it right when I walked out of the store and had it corrected.bitemeslippy

i bought metal gear acid 2 and got half way thru the game (lol i didnt even pay attention to the opening title screen) before discovering it was metal gear acid 1

so i beat it, returned it, and now ive played both:twisted:

For all the EB haters I highly recommend gamecrazy if not going the ebay route...better buy back pricing and lower on the used stuff too; my 2 cents anyway...

Yeah, after yesterday, I'm completely disgusted with trading games in. I went to pick up GRID yesterday, so I took some stuff to trade in, things I don't really play anymore. Well turns out Darksector is worth $12, Viking is worth $10 and The Club is worth $8. I told 'em no thanks and walked out. I don't need any game bad enough to trade in 3 games and pay an additional $34.
