Anyway I'm not trying to start a system war but I just feel I paid too much for only 2 AAA exclusive in 18 months.

What does exclusivity have to do with anything? If there's a good multiplatform game, what difference does it make whether someone with a PS3 is able to enjoy it or not? The more sales a game generates the better it is for that series or franchise to continue.
[QUOTE="Malvo"][QUOTE="POJO_MOFO"]You are missing out on some absolutely fantastic games if you only buy games 9.0 or higher. I make up my own mind about gamesEndgame_basic
I'm generally in his boat. I'll rent plenty, but I only buy games that are supposed to be fantastic. People that buy games like Spider-Man 3 and Crackdown perplex me, when they can easily accomplish the same stuff in a rent.
The only games I own that would be considered less than AAA standards are the Call of Dutys.
I own both Spiderman 3 and Crackdown. The difference between owning a game and renting it is when you get the urge you can just pop it in and play for a bit. I know for a fact you didn't get all the orbs in crackdown with a rental. Also, when the dlc content came out is was great to own the game so I could check out what turned out to be great added features. I guess I've just always liked owning games, same goes for dvd's.
That's true, but games like that have limited replay value. Yes, I didn't find all the orbs, but to be honest, I wouldn't want to.
Did you guys even read what I said?

QUOTE: "Also I don't really make my decisions entirely on what score game gets from reviewer but most often the really AAA reviews are the best ones to purchase especially since now games cost 60 bucks. My policy is rent and then buy."
I never said gamespot was god and I took their word for. No I usually check out the games myself ie RENT & BUY.
However I always check what the average score for a game is on gamerankings.com before I buy.
Look all I saying is that is a game is rated 9 or higher by 10 different websites and magazine then most often that game turns out to be good.
I don't buy into hype PERIOD.
But I make informative decisions and rent all games before I buy.

but you just said you wouldn't buy any games that weren't triple AÂ
im sure its been said but you shouldnt buy games just because someone else rates em low.there are amazing games like crackdown, dead rising and call of duty that are below 9 and are exelent, and you might really like them too if you would play them.of course, sometimes you shouldnt get gaames that are rates 7 or under, but if its 7 or up you should at least give it a glance.

Even then I would disagree, theres still alot of gret games out there rated less than 7; shadowrun for example.Â
only idiots let gamesites and reviews choose for them
you can rent it or download or borrow it from someone who has
sell your xbox your not a gamer

Abit harsh there mate,
I can understand that if you dont want to spend alot of money on games ( and who blames them, considering how much they cost) then people are going to want the best possible games to make their moneys worth.
However I would still recommend that AAA only gamers try something they might like the sound of.
I think you people don't get the argument here.
I was trying to say is that I don't have a ton of cash so I usually buy the top of the line games. Sorry but I won't drop 60 bucks for a lame movie tie in like Spiderman or half made game like Shadowrun. My is that I buy games that are absolutely worth owning. If you can afford mediocre games like Crackdown then more power to you but I am a cheap MF so I like to get more bang for the buck.
Â
Also you people stop with the whole "you are missing out on games". I never said I don't play game, it's just that RENT every game before buying anything.Â
Don't bust on the original poster. He buys games in a manner that works for him. And I say good for him. He researches before he buys, instead of jumping into hype.
I'm not much different.

To answer his question about exclusives on the 360 vs. the PS2, here's the reason -- exclusives have changed.
First of all, you unfairly list games like GTA3 as exclusives (for the time) on PS2, but you don't do the same thing with games like Rainbow Six: Vegas or Oblivion on the 360. At least be consistant.
But more likely is that 3rd party exclusives aren't going to be as common this generation as they were in the last. It's not a business model that makes sense anymore, as the market is much more shared than before.
