I'm totally answer 3. I'll play the game through and get what I get. I'm happy with whatever. There's achievements I know I'll never be able to get for one reason or another. I'm good, but I'm not THAT good.

I try to get as many as I can when I play games, but I won't go out of my way for them.

I have always imagined a developer doing a joke with the achievements by getting a 1000 secret achievement for just finishing the game, that would go like "Yay you played the game" Achievement Explanation: That's the only thing that matters, otherwise why are you playing for?. :P

I agree with most of the entries here. I love getting achievements, but id rather not spend the equivalent of the game time trying to get one. If its gonna take more than a few hours to get I wont have it.

I agree and i hate achievements that take for ever to get like halo 3 ODST's naughty naughty achievement and its not worth it because it took me an hour to get this one and it was only 5 G's and some are just over done NFS shift one for getting to the second tier bout 1 and 1/2 hours to get it for 100 G's for me thats just over the top

I go for all of them... unless they are REALLY, REALLY hard to get :P. But so much more games would probably have 100% for me if the "average" games that were released didn't have the multiplayer die out :(. There are a few games where I have all of the single player achievements and the rest are just multiplayer.

That specific achievement actually comes with a reward. You get a piece of armor from ODST for your avatar. That would justify spending an hour on it to me. Would be nice to see more achievements that gives rewards such as avatar items. Like you get something for getting 1000g in a game.

I don't bother with achievements and just enjoy the game.
