I love achievements, they give a sense of accomplishment in a game and add replay value, but lately I've been wondering what the point is. Games have had this sort of thing for years, but the Achievement system is a standardized version of it, and as such they should have some small reward for getting certain achievements (like a gamertag picture exclusive to those who have beaten a particularly difficult achievement, such as COD4's Mile High Club). This would really help getting people into the game and I think increase the effectiveness of the Achievement system with increased incentive to achieve. Thoughts?

yeah i know, i think its cool how some games do that. Like Mass Effect also gave you exlusive pictures for getting certain achivements. But yeah, anyways i agree with you i thinjk games should do this more often.

totally agree with you, another suggestion is, MS or a 3rd party company would offer free stuff(arcade games, MS points, etc etc) for people who have reached a certain amount of gamerpoints (either in total or in a specified game) this would help MS to encourage more people to spend more time in their games/ keeping their games for a longer period which may lessen the number of those who sell their videogames to the used game markets.

some games do give gamerpics with achievements they aint going to give free arcade games or micrsoft points for achievements because people would boost for them more than they do currently. and why would they want to encourage people to play the games for longer, idealy they want people to buy new games as much as possible.

Gears of War 2 gives you gamerpics for certain achievements, like beating the entire game in Co-op and another, different gamerpic for beating the game on Insane. I don't know what other achievements you can get gamerpics for, but they also did this in the first Gears of War and some other games.
