ACOG Scope- Call of Duty 4

I need a little feedback on ACOG scopes from COD4 players.

Recently I have been using the AK-47 with an ACOG scope. Is this a good idea? Or should I use the Red Dot scope?

What type of guns is the ACOG gun meant for?

Also I am aware that the ACOG scope reduces accuracy and increases range. Does the reduced accuracy effect the guns largely?

What about the M4 Carbine. I saw it perform better with the ACOG scope on.Pirate_X

nah man, the M4 is better for CQB. the ACOG is more for lonng range. M14, G3, snipers and such.

I don't use the ACOG scope at all - only the red-dot sight. As it seems, they should have given you the ACOG scope first, then the red-dot. It seems faster from "hip-to-eye", and you can see more of the environment.

But if you like it, use it.

The m16 owns no matter what you put on it..

Ive used the m16 since level 5, havent stopped since.

The acog? Kinda messed me up, On snipers it would work, but anything else no.

Red dot is the way to go.

ACOG give you a slight magnification (like 1.5x or 2x) but has horrible accuracy. The scope bobs all around like you were using a sniper rifle but the bad thing is that there's no hold breath function. It works well with AK47, M4 or G36C.herbie12282

im going to have to agree, i tried using an ACOG on the M14, reaped it of its beauty, couldnt hit a thing with it on. ive really only used the ACOG is the M4 and that worked pretty well

I run an acog on the mp5...with stopping power and steady aim...IMO strongest weapon in the game...

95% of the time i shoot from the hip and i found that the acog gives me some addtional range while doing so...but on some larger maps.."where i cant shoot from the hip" the cog gives me what i need..

Red dot is better suited for the AK i feel. I seem to get more kills with the Red Dot scope so i stick with that.Sharvie

I don't like the ACOG scope. i find i can shoot people a long way away just fine either with the red dot, or the standard gun sights. I tend to run around and shoot people at fairly close range, and the ACOG ain't ideal for that.cheames748

The ACOG scope works perfect with the M16Antox-RX8

What M16 were you using. It must be my scope. Its busted. I had it on someone for a good 30 secs shooting my entire clip and not a single bullet hit. I will never use that scope again. As for those that put ACOG on SMGs....you should be shot in the butt.

Ohhh i agree..seems dumb to use/try it...but... i was just playing around one match with it and it clicked really well for me.....In one match i might pull up to the sight maybe 3-4 times..

With the additional range the cog gives me i can headshot from the hip much further away..

tick with red dot on ak 47

use the scope on big long maps like the map like a airplane base

I find that using ACOG works well on M4. The problem is that, the M4 is one of the weaker guns. Sometimes I hit the enemy first (and usually in a critical area) but the person doesn't seem to die and they end up killing me. But its nothing that occurs continously. Also, having the double fire fire perk on usually solves that problem.

No, the recoil on the AK makes it pretty much worthless with anything but the red dot (although it's great with the dot). I only use the ACOG on the M-16 and the M-4 (basically anything you plan to use from medium to long range), red dot is best for almost every other weapon.

normally i like the ACOG scope, but its just in CoD 4 i prefer the red dot sight over it

I personally don't use the ACOG-- im a 30 right now and the M4 is my baby :P . I find the red dot to be a truly amazing piece of hardware on an even more amazing piece of hardware. But in the end, it's all personal preference I guess lol. I guess I have to agree that it may fare well on the G3 or M14, but I haven't gotten there yet....

the red dot... well for me anywayz. your movements when aiming is faster with red dot then it is acog. but i guess both works fine if you know how to use it.

ACOG+ M4 was Godly when I used it

it was too easy to use though so I just go with the skorpion red dot now, underrated gun IMO

It's kinda stupid because in SP there is a much better ACOG scope which doesn't get rid of the vision on your sides, so I don't see why they didn't use that.
