ACOG Scope- Call of Duty 4

i had the ACOG attached to my M21 sniper for a while, since it helps with the recoil you get when zoomed in, you can stay on target much easier. but it lacks range. so i've gone back to no attachment.

to be honest i dont really like it at all, it takes up too much of your view, with little gain for zoom and IMO is no where near as accurate as a red dot sight on a gun.

its not like you have to buy it or spend skill points to get it, just install it on a weapon when you unlock one and give it a go.

IMO the ACOG is the worst attachment in the game

Gimmie a red dot or a silencer any day!

Recently I have only used the silencer with the AK-47 and it worked really well. As someone mentioned before, the gun has a really good ironsight. So I simply added the Silencer.

Also the M4 with the ACOG scope works well but requires some getting use to. I have yet to try the ACOG scope with the P9, G3 and the M16. I find that experimenting with guns and their add-ons really intriguing. And that's what the Call Of Duty 4 Multiplayer experience is kind of based on.

I need a little feedback on ACOG scopes from COD4 players.

Recently I have been using the AK-47 with an ACOG scope. Is this a good idea? Or should I use the Red Dot scope?

What type of guns is the ACOG gun meant for?

Also I am aware that the ACOG scope reduces accuracy and increases range. Does the reduced accuracy effect the guns largely?

Use what you feel comfortable with. but personally I dont like the ACOGS maybe on the M14 though

I used to think ACOG was good. But now, I only use Red DotSouL-Tak3R

i dont ever use the acog, even for long range stuff

m16 is a newb gun buddy. you get it at lvl 1 and people still using at 55. With all guns unlocked you have to choose that one. P90 is the same. Cool if ur just leveling it up and lame if your just using it to win. Pretty much all the guns are even except those two.Wezker619

How about this.

You take the ACOG on the AK, and use it for a couple of rounds. Then put a red dot on. See which one YOU like best.

Personally I'll use it on a few guns, but I like the red dot a lot more.

I unlocked the ACOG espcially for my G3, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, it becomes quite pain staking to line up the shots with the scope, then sometimes they don't even hit. Then it's not long before some dude comes along with a n00b tube, or some long range fully auto weapon (ie LMGs) and completely ruins my day.

Other than on the G3, I don't use the ACOG scope. I don't want to take it off...yet, I wanna see if I can get used to it a bit more first.

Same, except with my G36C. It's not too bad, but my game has been down ever since i swapped it from the Red Dot. For some reason, I dont want to give it up! lol. Red Dot does kick @ss, however. Im just gonna practice more with the ACOG, and i'm sure my game will be back up to parrre at the Red Dot's level =)

I only used the ACOG scope once when I unlocked it for the first time and I can telll you it sucks! The red dot sight is just perfect because it doesnt take up a lot of space in your vision and it makes it easier to shoot people with the red dot to guide you (DUH) I wouldn't recommend it. I mean I even aiming down the sight without any accesories is better than the ACOG scope.

BTW the M4 Carbine owns!!

Ohhh i agree..seems dumb to use/try it...but... i was just playing around one match with it and it clicked really well for me.....In one match i might pull up to the sight maybe 3-4 times..

With the additional range the cog gives me i can headshot from the hip much further away..

That is total bullsh*t because the ACOG has been confirmed to NOT give any additional range for any guns...you are just dreaming buddy

1) AK-47 is better without any add on. ACOG with Ak is stupid because you dont put an ACOG on a gun that has so much recoil. Red dot on AK-47 is for weak players, my golden AK is more powerfull with no attachement.

2) The ACOG is really sexy on a M40A3 (aka "the first sniper" for doomies). I got more than 50 000 kills only with this setup (M40A3 + ACOG) and every single kill is impressive (not like all the noobs who spray with smg and steady aim ...). It's really hard to get it at first, but after about 10 000 kills you gonna understand how it works. And btw, this sniper is more powerfull with the ACOG (75 damages instead of 70) and if you choose stoping power (only beginners use something else than stopping power) you will kill in 1 shot even in the legs ( stopping power = +40% damage | 75 x 1.4 =102 instead of 70 x 1.4 = 98 | do I have to say you have 100 health ?)

I only use ACOG on M40 but it can also be good on acurate assault riffle like M4 and M16.

note : like all the real gamers, I play on the PC so it can be different with the auto aim on X360/PS3 ...

The only weapons I use with ACOG is the M14, with double tap, and steady aim.

I'm a beast with that! Now that takes TRUE skill. CLose and Long range!!

Pretty bad idea used Red dot sight all the way Acog maby for like..Carbine but not evin that its justnot very good(opionion)zeroxin

my god people, this thread was over a year old. i remember posting in it before IW patched CoD4 and that patch fixed the ACOG issues. half of the opinions in this thread are no longer valid because of that. let this thread die.
