Activision making a Modern Warfare 2, not under the COD name?

I'm sure everyone knows about cod5 being confirmed and being in WWII, I think it would be a good idea for Activision to make a Modern Warefare, but not under the COD name..what do you guys think?snipeshot11

I don't think that it is confirmed for being in WWII. I believe what Activision has said is that the game will be set in a different theater. Maybe instead of the setting from COD4 it might be set in a future war torn theater such as North Korea or something of the like.

i think they should stop ww2 games period and only make more recent wars (Vietnam and after) or fictional wars. i never wanna play another ww2 game lol, i've only had and beaten about 20 lol. it's time to move on to some other war or make up your own lol.

as for your idea, it sounds good. the only problem is without the call of duty name it might not sell as good because it is all about the name in a lot of games. people see that 4 and think it must be an awesome game to have that many games in the series, but look at dynasty warriors and we know that would be bad logic lol. but infinity ward should stop developing call of duty games and just make fictional modern wars instead.

except for the fact that infinity ward created the COD series... no they won't abandon their claim to fame, but i would like it if they went back to the modern era once again in the future...mmackura

I think he meant it was 100% confirmed in the WWII setting. I think it would be pointless and, on their part, extremely stupid to take out the Call of Duty name. Sals and the like.

As I said before.. in perfect relation to your post. It's 100% confirmed.. it was on the front page of gamespot for example.. which confirms that it's WW2..

we have games like bioshock, mass effect that make up their own settings and stories. y doesnt cod do that!? itd be sweet playing a interesting story, in an interesting place. not the same ww2 stuff we've seen a million times.nahmean187

My bad. I see that. WTF! WWII has been done to death and then someone pi$$ed on its grave. Another downside to this is that Treyarch is developing it. This is a COD that I will not be buying.

It's going to be in WWII and it going to be when United States fought the Japenese. Which is a different theater from European battles. You will be encountering guerilla warfare, snipers hiding in trees, jungle warfare. All pretty exciting new fields.

Modern Warfare is fun, but to be honest I would hate for it to get any farther then that. Otherwise they will include those technologies similar to those they had in GRAW and I absolutly hate GRAW.

Screw that fancy tech. I want dirty, loud, scary sounding guns. I want to have to really on my eyes not cameras or drones or little red outlines telling me where my enemy is. It looks pretty awesome. There are pictures in some forum for CoD 5
