It's situations like this that are the reason that customer service in this country has gone down the crapper. Why should someone try to help another person when all they're going to do is pitch a baby fit and complain about it. They're trying to help you. Show a bit of respect dude. I know you'd want that as well. If you're nice to them they'll possibly remember you and help you out again in the future. Get over it, show them the ID and go on with your life.

at eb games i had to show I.D. to trade 2 games in, i just said the hell with it and walked out

I'm 18 by the wayHeartagram_03
Wow I'm never asked to do that at E.B games and I'm 17 and they have never asked me since I was a freshman. It also might be that there are 4 different people working there and I used to trade in games all the time

videogames are just judged completely different than any other media form. I'm 16 and I've tried buying M-rated games a few times at different stores and they never let me, but I went to the movie theater and bought tickets for 300 like it was nothing. I'm just glad I'm finally turning 17 in 22 days and dont have to get my friends to buy M games anymore.

Yeah sounds pretty stupid. Those old people who work at Best Buy and Toys R Us really take their jobs seriously. I've always been allowed to buy mature games at places like FYI.(I'm not over 17) So i'm at Toys R Us a while back, and I hand this guy in his mid 20s a copy of Resident Evil 4. "Nice choice" He says. As he's paying for it, this old guy, must have been in his 60s comes over and starts yelling "Don't let him buy it! He's underaged!" I don't have a problem with ALL places being able to decline a minor to buy a Mature game, but when it makes me force my brother to drive thirty minutes to the store, it just pisses me off. Anyway, I got the game, but I understand your point. I don't like how videogames are sold in general, especially in your case.

Hi, Im a 31 year old grown man with a full beard and mustache. I am 300 lbs. and my arms are covered in tatoos. Anybody know any 16 year old kids who look like that!!!! As i walk up to the Best Buy register with "Hitman" in my hands, i see an old ugly lady. Then she asks me for I. D.! Normaly for beer or cigarettes i dont mine because its the law.But for a freakin video game!! This is absurd! I had no child with me, my son was at school. My I.D. was in my truck and not on me at the time. So i walked all the way to the truck and back in to show her my I.D.. I asked to her add the years up, to insult her for insulting me(acting like she cant do math). I said" what 16 old kid looks like a big ugly dude like me. She said it was the law and Bestbuy's policy. I laughed, made her ring me up, then decided not to buy it(to inconvience her) and walked out. Its no big deal but i just cant believe someone would have the nerve to card an obvious adult for a video game. She looked like a relegious person, maybe thats why. Anyway, eff da bittcchh:P ytford
I think it's funny how you rant on and on about not being taken seriously as an adult but your response is completely juvenile.

Joe Lieberman, Jack Thompson, and Hilary Clinton were the main causes of these stupid laws today involving the purchase of M games and above...and because of that I certainly hope Hilary doesn't get elected to become president of the U.S. in 2008.

[QUOTE="ytford"]

[QUOTE="jacksheets"]Did you stop to think some stores might have a zero tolerance policy for carding M rated games? I doubt it's the lady's fault, she's just trying to cover her ass so she doesn't get in trouble by a supervisor. In some places they have really cracked down on M rated sales to minors leading to policies like what you ran into. You honestly don't think the lady knew you were of age, of course she did. It's not her fault you don't carry your ID on you. How hard is it to whip something out of your wallet at a register. Get over yourself.jacksheets

You may be right, but guess what? They lost a customer for life! (and i spend tons of money there)Its a cut-throat world out there and the customer is ALWAYS right! They wanna card honest adults, well i can be a dickk too!:P

My mom is 60 and got carded at the gas station to buy cigs the other day. S*** happens, some places have strict ID policies. She smiled and felt flattered and showed her ID. It's your perogative not to shop at Best Buy anymore (I doubt you'll follow through with that), but the customer is not always right in your case. You lose, drive through.

why do u insult this guy like he did something wrong?your right s*** happens but it doesnt mean you cant get angry or just want to tell everyone that your annoyed.if he wants to b**** then let him b****, cause when your b****ing  one day and someone says stuff like "you lose drive through" and "get over yourself" how are you going to feel?

Maybe you should keep your ID in your wallet. Even still, if walking out to the car to grab your ID is THAT big of a deal, maybe you could shave off a few pounds. It's also pretty immature to go out of your way to "inconvenience" someone. You claim it's no big deal, but you made it a big deal.

It's not really her fault. I have a pretty good friend at EB and he even has to ID me every time I get a game there. He says they're forced to and sometimes they even send in people to buy M rated games just to see if the employee asks for ID. They could lose their job if they don't.

I can't help but think this is some dumbass politicians fault.

im 15 and i never get carded or refused to buy M games haha. i just stay away from buying games at bestbuy because of their strict policiy. i usually buy games at gamecrazy where i know the people who work there pretty well, and they know my parents are cool with it. sometimes i buy them at target and just go up to the person who looks like they have the least idea what theyre doing or just doesnt care. worked every time, for years :P

I bought GRAW from BestBuy and they didn't ask me for ID. 2-3 weeks later I bought Hitman and ironically the same lady who sold me GRAW asked me for ID. I don't know man, maybe its the game.

so the **** what, it was a big issue to this guy.has nothing small and annoying happend to you and you just want to point out how annoying it is?i dont think you really care if this guy had a big issue, his wife or parent or child could have died, or he coulve gotten in a wreck and you would still be here trying to bust this guys balls about it.

God willing you will remember your pathetic replies should you ever lose your mobility or sight.

Too late, for my words will surely ring in your ears when you eventually have something real to concern you, and there is no doubt, it will happen one day.

I just think its pretty silly to card anyone for a video game. I mean its a freakin video game not a godd damm hunting knife! jeeze;)

ytford

Congress passed a bill saying that it is against the law to sell a Mature game to a minor, but the fact that she carded someone obviously older is kind of excessive, but you can't blame them for doing it. Besides, you should always have your I.D. on you in case of things like that.

Anyway, eff da bittcchh:P ytford
thats all this new law BS everyone is trying to pass. Come on now, you can tell the difference, and to my, you don't sound like you like quite 17. I would just shop at a different store for games from now on.
