Do you think it is possible for MGS4 to look just as good on X360 compared to PS3?seanroxors
I think it would probably look the same graphically, but I don't think it would play as well on 360.

Why not? It doesnt look like anything the 360 couldnt handle. If anything, games play better on the 360 for the most part.
This one isn't going to happen, and if it does, then it just will not be as good, sorry but if Kojima wants to not compress anything and make his last big game the way he wants to make it, then a High Def format is needed...TheSystemLord1
Why? The game could easily be put on multiples discs.

I'm going on with what Kojima said, and how he was making MGS4 to take advantage of the PS3 hardware.

ill be honest...i was pumped after watching the earlier trailers and "gameplay" footage we saw late last year...but now that i've see the game in motion, im not impressed. It's quite possible that he showed probably the most boring level, but nothing in that 15 min gameplay stood out.
I was expecting to pick up a PS3 when this game was going to be released, but now ill wait on a PS3 until something that interests me comes out.
It isn't so much that it couldn't, its that this really is Kojima's last big game. I finally realized that, he wants it done a certain way, and I really just don't think Konami has it in them to sell him out like that...after all he's done for the company, hell, without Kojima Konami really hasn't had any HUGE hits in a long time.TheSystemLord1
Ya, im pretty sure its only coming to the 360 if the ps3 version flops. i will be getting the ps3 version, i dont want to wait any longer than I have to for this game.

What's a flop? It'll definitely sell less than MGS3. Seriously, has any game this gen sold nearly 4 million copies (Gears of War is over 3 million)?
The question is what will constitue a success to Konami? Let's use RE4 as an example. Based on Capcom's own numbers, as of 1/07 it has sold 1.7 million on GC and 2 million on PS2. So sales of 1.7 million weren't enough to constitute a success for them for a last gen game? But with a port they were able to add 2 million more bringing worldwide sales up to 3.7 million.
So would 1.7 million be enough to call MGS4 a success on just the PS3? Will it sell that much (no PS3 game has come close)? Based on the current PS3 user base, that might be a tough. By March 2008, the install base will be undoubtedly higher, but will that make a big enough difference?
These are the questions that Konami is most likely looking at long and hard. But the game will definitely NOT flop on the PS3.
It would be nice to have this game on the X360 but in the video Snakeusing the PS3 controller to control the little Otaconrobot. I think if they tried to implement that to the X360 it would be framerate drop for sure at that point because it would seem the Xbox console wouldn't be able to handle it for some reason. Maybe if thegame is ported right then maybe itcould run witha consist framerate.Anyway it would be good to see this game on the X360 but if not I'll probalably go toa friend's house to play thegameor buy a PS3 for myself.
Sloppy gameplay, bad controls, dumb story, 30 min long cutscenes.........umm, yeah, ill take splinter cell over MGS ANYDAY!!!axes03
Splinter Cell is a borefest.

Splinter Cell dosent have a story bad controls SC gameplay is boring as hell and the mgs cutscenes are one of the things that makes the story great.

Not IMO. I think MGS has the greatest story ever told in a video game, movie, or book. The story is amazing.
I don't mind Splinter Cell's stories, but they're pretty bland IMO. Just like a Tom Clancy novel.

I loved MGS2. I know the story was unbelievably crazy, but Ienjoyed it.
Sorry guys but it isnt coming to the 360. Mulitple disc's would suck, and it would still have to be compressed which Kojima said would take too much out of the game graphically. Even on multi disc's it would still need compression and Kojima doesnt want that.
He also has said that the Octi-camo just wont run on the 360's processor setup. This game was built ground up for the PS3 with the Cell, Blu-Ray, and the RSX in mind, a port would diminish the qualioty of the game and Kojima doesnt want that either. I would love for 360 fans to get to play it, but its not feasable on the 360. Kojima has confirmed too many times that this game is not coming to the 360.

Oh, I think that was the crazy ending part where Campbell kept calling you on the codec telling you how he couldn't pay his bills, and some aliens has picked him up or something. Crazy stuff.

If the game was on multiple discs, it wouldnt need to be compressed... As soon as they said that, the credability of the whole statement goes out the window.Kojima just doesnt want a 360 version, how would oci-camo not run on an xbox 360?

well this is a stealth game before an action game. this is how its always done, u don't shoot and blow up everything in sight. Its the same with splinter cell or any other stealth game.

SPLINTER CELL SERIES > MGS
And i can see MGS is kinda ripping Splinter Cell off with the camera controls and camera angles......its kind of a compliment for Splinter Cell IMO...

Splinter Cell invented a 3D camera angle?

no...they didnt ,but its obvious MGS is trying to make the gameplay similar to SC
in other words, ubisoft perfected the stealth genre and it shows that Konami has noticed and taking advantage
I've loved the MGS series, but his new ingame footage looked VERY bland and the AI looked terrible. Eeverything just seemed so stale and there was no interactiveness with the environment. Not imporessed so far.Endgame_basicPeople said gear's of war AI was bad at first, and it turned out fine, people said crysis' Ai was crap, but with recent footage its great. Your point fails.

I agree, splinter cell has gone down the drain. I fell in love with the first and loved the second even more, but the last 2 games were crap. Splinter cell will always be one of my favorite series, but the series needs to end. The way they are going now with it, it isnt really the same thing, it can be great, i will still buy it since i still love the series, but i dont think it will be anything great.

Sure it has. :|
In the end, isn't it up to Kojima, not Konami? Konami want it to stay exclusive, but I'm sure Kojima will want more sales and $$$. What good is a MGS game if it sells no where near as much as it could (Ps3 has sold what? 3.8m?)
I will bold this because people don't seem to understand, MGS4 will most likely be exclusive, but that won't stop it coming to 360 AFTER LAUNCH. Seriously, saying it's exclusive is pretty much saying "we will release it for the PS3 only on launch, so lotsa PS3 owners buy it, but a month or so after we will bring it to Xbox 360."
They KNOW there will be more sales on the 360, they're not stupid. In term, them being not stupid, will almost guarentee it coming out for the 360 after launch.
I don't care if I have to wait months and months (especially with all of the other awesome games coming out on 360) but it would def be cool to get it at some point....

dont count on it....theres wayyyy to many ps3 elements that are being placed in the game
