am i crazy?

i got an xbox 360 a week ago. everyone i gave this news to said "so now you can get Halo 3." i always reply "acutally, i don't think i'll be getting halo 3". then everyone always acts really suprised and thinks i'm crazy. The thing is, i'm running low on cash and i've got a big list of games to get (i have a wii too). i can either spend $70 on an fps Halo 3 (when i've already played through the fist two) or i can spend much less on some other shooter franchise i havn't played (gears of war, lost planet, any other great xbox 360 exclusive) as well as buy assassin's creed. i'm wondering, has any other xbox 360 owner passed up halo 3?micahismyname

I am sure a lot of people have. It all depends if they like the Halo series or not. I enjoyed it and am glad I bought it. Was I impressed by Halo 3? A little bit, certainly not as much as before.

There are a lot better games coming out this month however so.

Halo is not so good when compared to some of the other franchises on 360 - I mean, it's polished as hell but that doesn't fix the broken weapon balance, poor level design or crappy fanbase. (For the record, I'm not saying that Halo fans are all dumb, I'm saying that there are a lot of dumb people who are also Halo fans.)

I don't plan to pay a single penny for Halo 3; if I play it at all, it will be for free on somebody else's hardware. Get Gears, it's a blast multiplayer. It's not as tight or tournament-ready as some other shooters but I can almost guarantee you'll have some fun playing it.

I rented H3 on day cause I was bored, but I'm not a huge Halo fan so I don't plan on buying it. I know you said you were short on cash, but I thought I would make some suggestions on what to get.

-Gears is great and IMO is a must have.

-Lost Planet is fun, but I don't feel I missed anything by only renting it.

-Assassin's Creed looks promising and I plan on getting it.

-OBLIVION is an incredible game that is any other 360 must have.

-Also Mass Effect looks like it will be a great game.

-So check some of those games out and I hope that helped.

No, I didn't skip Halo 3. I actually played it quite a bit and I can safely say it's the most overrated game ever created. It's a last generation game is what it is. Simplistic gameplay, no good story, no good sound effects (the guns sound like... crap) visuals are OK I suppose. But really, it's avarage or below it. Nothing to be totally pumped about.

I skipped Halo 3 and have no regrets about it. Nothing against it necassarily, I just never saw what made it standout so much from other games or even other shooters for that matter. I'm sure I'll pick it up, eventualy but as you said, there are so many great games out or coming out that I have plenty of other titles to keep me busy for at least a year or so.

If not being a Halo fanboy is wrong, then I don't wanna be right.

i like halo in terms of the story but i never really got into the multiplayer idk why but i just couldnt get into it

Yeah, if I had to choose between Gears and Halo 3, it wouldn't even be a decision! In my opinion Gears is WAY better than Halo 3 since Halo 3 is more of the same. Not that it isn't a good game but it's not on the level of Gears at all. Plus, it's coming out for computer so there will be more people to play with online.

well i have halo 3nad i have to say the ver htped killed ti for me... i thought it would be someting else and i ended up not likeing it. i never played halo before and it was my first halo and it sucked to me.. i really don care what toher people say and reviews these days are jus killing me... i get excited for a game and see the review and not buy the game later.. sorry of topic.
