I feel the same way, my Gold membership ran out some time during August and I barely touched it before that, so I've been staying with Silver. I prefer single player games, they're just a lot more fun and varied rather than either kill a certain amount of people/capture these points while dealing with people using glitches online, Akimbo 1887's, etc.

Naw, I use to... Actually.. I just noticed I haven't really been using live, but still. On that occasional day I feel like playing online with a friend.

Quite interesting you brought this up. I always just re-subscribe every year paying a full £40, but looking back at it I only reall use Gold at the end of the year when the new Call of Duty come's out. This year I have been playing Dragon Age and Mass Effect... and soon to get Bioshock 2 which came out today (althought that does have multiplayer) so I'm not really using my Gold at all. But then If i do buy it in smaller packages (say a 3 month Gold subscription) then I will end up spending more over the year anyway.

yeh if you do the math (i dont think most people do) you will be spending more if you buy the 3 month (i buy these) its about a 20$ dif if i remember right, but the money convenience for the "now" is better, that idea is also implied with the the 1 month ones (but more money at the end of the year 30 or 40$ i believe). but back OT, i didnt pay for xbl gold because there werent any games i wanted to play got fed up with MW2 every almost thing about that game just erks me. and why pay for live if your not going to use any of its features? so i was silver, while i was playing Riddick-AoDA and ME2 and WOW :P. the demo for BF-BC2 came out and i had to get a new Sub. to see how the demo was...to say the least the Demo alone was well worth renewing my gold member ship :D.

I still enjoy playing online on my Xbox 360, I play it in moderation so that I will not get burnt out on it.

I've been thinking about this alot as well, since I am now playing Mass Effect 2 along with Dragon Age: Origins, I feel like I'm wasting my Gold membership.
