Hey everybody! I wanted to vent a little. I was playing COD4 and someone made the comment that if you were born before 1985, you shouldn't be playing this game. That's right, before 1985. Now I did some math, and that means if you are older than 22-23, you shouldn't be playing Call of Duty. This was frustrating, because some guys have a stereotype of adults as being losers if they play video games, but I'm 26, married, a teacher, and a home-owner. My wife even enjoys certain games on the 360, like Texas Hold 'em and Amped 3 (everyone has a favorite). So, my question is, when are you too old to enjoy games on any console, and was this guy a freaking idiot for saying what he said? Holler.
i dont know like... i dont care wat age they are as long as their not 50, telling all the kids they need to be nice, and site there and tk cuz they dont know whats going on...
Your not old man. 26 is still young. Anyone who wants can play. Although I have played with a 49 year old with like 7 kids, no problem with that, it was just a little wierd...
you can't never be to old for videogames. Everybody have a hobby, and if you Sixty or even 80 or maybe 40, you can still play videogames. The guy you talking to is a idiot.
You're never too old to play videogames, really. I was watching an HD trailer of a development team for some FPS game, I forget. And he was at least 60 years old, not exaggerating. He was demonstrating how to throw a grenade, duck and cover, how to shoot, etc. Half of the game developers are older guys 40+ from what I've seen. As long as you play responsibly, what's the harm? Get your game on. It's a way of life.
These are the same kids that have to have everything bought for them. If it weren't for their parents they would not be gaming, if it were not for developers who began back with Atari - there would not be these incredible advancements. If it weren't for me, the average age of the consumer (33) there would not be as many games. Next time this happens just wait a few minutes for their parental timer to shut off their 360. I will be gaming for the rest of my life.
I'm 27, a teacher, and a homeowner as well. I have been playing video games pretty much my whole life. I plan to keep playing video games for a lot longer. The talking to you was an idiot. I like playing so screw those people who think it's weird. Plus, by my students think it is really cool that I play VG's. It lets me relate to them on a different level. I'm not just a science teacher to them. I'm human and a normal human at that.
heck, i'm gonna be 40, i love my 360. if you love to play video games, go for it....no one ever said anything about a gamer retirement age. of course i dont play Viva Pinata or Ratatoullie etc. if it's a game that really challenges you, like COD 4, RS Vegas, GHost Recon, i'm buyin it. My next door neighbor is older than me and loves to play Guitar Hero 3.
I'm 35 and I love my 360. I don't get to play it as much as I would like, but I don't feel too old for it. The way I see it I am able to afford this hobby now, so why not enjoy it?

hahahhaha...too funny! I agree! I am 28 and enjoy the gaming experience thoroughly. Having children myself I know it is something we can do and have a great time. My son's friends tell me all the time how they wished their parents were more like me8)

The guy was a freaking idiot for saying that. You're not that old; there are people in their late thirties on CoD4. And WTF has age got to do with it? Unless you're fairly old, and won't appreciate the violence, or too young.
I am 29 and married with a 1 1/2 year old. The average gamer is 30+ years of age. We are the ones with the money to go out and buy these expensive systems and HDtv's. A large number of games are now rated M for "MATURE" and yet we have tons of kids playing those games. You're not too old for gaming at all. Continue gaming and ignore the little ones who wouldn't have their consoles without the help of their mommy and daddy.

what!?! your never too old for gaming! and besides i think the 360 is for older more mature people anyways, because you dont get many good FPS games under the cert of 12, just tell um to go play on there wii because thats aimed at smaller children.
Hey again. Just wanted to check back and thanks for the comments. It wasn't really anything that got to me, it was more like one of those "wtf" statements that you don't even think about until like 12 hours later. I'm positive the person who said it was a college student (and probably drinking too much), so at least I'm not venting about a little kid. I teach 6th grade, so little kids don't bother me the least. I'll keep playing regardless, I just thought it was kind of weird to say something like that, and it seems like it was interesting discussion. Gaming is a form of entertainment that can be enjoyed by all ages (doesn't mean all ages should play all gams), and I think anybody can participate. I'm out.
Man! everyone knows that gamers reach the age of about 50! so don't worry. Actually the problem is that gamers are too young for games like these. Nothing like playing with a 10-15 year old on call of duty 4 online, just makes it feel less fun.
Man I am 42 and I have a clan that varies in age from mid 20s to mid 40s - don`t sweat it. They did an article(on XBOX LIVE`s website) on a guy in his 60s that has too many friends for his friends list -he thought they needed to make us able to have more than 100 friends , PLAY ON BROTHER!!!
Im am currently 23 and game harder than any kid at any school that i work at, it is the newest and in my opinion the best form of entertainment out there. From books to the screen and music and now into video game, this indrusty no longer creates these epic powerfully story driven video games for the 15-18 age group thats not their there target audiance, in fact thier target audience is getting older as the years go by there is already proof of that. I belive that in the near future video games will surpass the popualrity of movies and music and consoles will become as common as VCR's and every home. I say to anybody who thinks thier too old for gaming is makeing a mistake because the games are getting better and great things are coming ITS A GREAT TIME TO BE A GAMER
you cant be too old for a 360, the whole point of gaming is entertainment and you be too old to be entertained. and when some upstart retard says thats not true then you can hang the jerk out to dry.
