I am a strict PC gamer but if project Natal works as advertised i would probably get one. What is don't understand is how gaming on that thing would work. Let's say you play FPS on it...how do you move the character, do you walk arround? How do you shoot, do you pretend to hold an imaginary gun? The only thing that seems playable are driving games, but i can always get a cheap wheel and be done with it. I tried to find some videos of it, and the games Microsoft is working on seems almost "Wii" childish like painting game, or hiting a virtual ball or something.

So what do you think. Ive heard people say it will make other consoles obselete, but i don't see that happening. I think that it will be fun for casual people it won't work for hardcore gamers.

I was thinking that in regards to shooting a gun say, games could come with "props." Like for a tactical shooter, you'd have an assault rifle with a sling, and a pistol with a holster. Gears would have a Lancer, so on. This could get expensive, though... Hmm...

As to moving around in a shooter, I have no clue.

Just run at your tv and to go backwards moonwalk. If you ever need to strafe or jump move far away from your furniture. Microsoft will figure these things out eventually. Shooters are the most popular games so they will want to capitalize on it.

I honestly don't think they'll use Natal for shooters. I think it is partially for casual style games like the Wii but I think it will be more useful for auto-login (with facial recognition) and with quickly maneuvering the menus. Then I think we'll see a whole new list of games that come out just for this software. I'm not sure where it will go but I have high hopes for it.

I thought during the E3 demo the Natal developers said that you could have something like a gun ie paintball gun and Natal would register it as a gun? I could be wrong though, I could have misinterpreted though.

And that's....more money. I thought the X360 thrived on being the cheaper and more affordable console. But if it's really worth it i guess i could cough up 100$. But still.

It isn't required though. A lot of other consoles are pretty expensive when you start thinking about buying accessories.

I think it could be good for certain types of games. Something like Black and White could really work or any evolved verson of Myst. Strategy games could be interesting, but for the most part I'd rather not do dumbed-down version of activities to make them work in game control. I'd rather dumb them all the way down to just waggling my thumbs.

I doubt it will function fully for every game. Of course it would be very difficult to play an FPS with it, unless they create specific rail shooters. But it may best be used to enhance games. IGN had some good ideas for some uses. Think Rainbow Six or GRAW, using hand motions to give commands to your squadmates.

For what you said about FPS, I think Natal will just be based on certain types of games, like family and fun games not many comptetive games. May have some fighting games, driving etc. I think FPS would get ruined through Natal. But I'll purchase it as long as it doesn't cost as much as the console.

To move forward lean forward and so on with backwards and strafing. If you want to look left or right (turning screen) they could either use the Wii style of how close your curser is to the edge or you could turn your head in the direction (left to turn left). You can look left and at the screen at the same time.... I mean you don't have to completely look left.

I will say thought that trying to look left, lean right, and still hit the damn enemy would be a pain in the a**, but you try and tell me a better way of making a shooter. However i think Natal would be best as an attachment with the controller in shooters. Think Mass Effect (even though this could totally work easily how i explained before, but) with the controller, but instead of on screen options of talking you actually say what you want to say. I know that would be hard to put ina game without getting "does not recognize" every 5 seconds until you say exactly what it wants you to, but still.

I think this will work better for racing, fighting, rts (if you've seen the very first R.U.S.E trailer you may understand), and some new types that may come with Natal, but for those 3D space shooters and action games (Ninja Gaiden) it wouldn't be the best.

I'd just rather use the Xbox 360 controller for all games.

I think Natal will be good for somethings... but as they said at the PS3 press conference, some things just need a controller.

I've been thinking about all those questions ever since E3. It does seem almost childish, and I doubt Natal would ever support something like Halo or Gears. Another question is regarding Milo. Will something like that ever be available to the public? There are so many questions and so little answers. Only the future holds the answers.

i think Natal will be great. Even if you personally don't like it it will still be good for you. Microsoft will make money off of it and it will expand the 360s user base toward more casual gamers

Why is that a good thing? Do I have to remind you about the Wii.
