Anyone else think Pandemic should fire their testers?

Falling through stuff is driving me bat**** crazy!! I also keep getting stuck in stuff like trees, rocks and debris from destroyed buildings. When a enemy blows something up near me and a tree falls down on me, I get stuck in it. I've also jumped between two rocks and got stuck in mid air in a running animation. Also the anti-air rockets never seem to track enemy helicopters. The just do circles around them while they shoot me, even when I'm standing straight in front of them.

Mercs 2 has so many bugs and glitches that there is no way this went through any kind of testing phase. If it did it must have been 2 people for like 8 hours total and that's it. There are so many things that should have been caught by testers. Simple stuff like getting stuck in everything. Just seems really sloppy. This stuff never really happened in the first Mercs game. I mean sure, you'd get stuck occasionally, but it's all the time now.

It's maddening and frustrating, then I level a building and all is forgiven. Until I get stuck in something else. :? Truly a love/hate experience. :)

I am 67% through the game and the worst glitch I have encountered is getting stuck in a bush for like 10 seconds before it threw me out of there.

It almost makes me feel like there are more than one versions of "final" code out there.

Most of the problems are not so much glitchy, but polish problems. Repetitive dialog, repetitive missions, etc can get on your nerves after a while. That's not really a tester problem. This game reminds me a lot of how I felt about Assassin's Creed. There's a good game there that can be well tolerated in small doses, but the overall gameplay can get fairly repetitive. I enjoy it in spurts, but long sessions will get ya.

Excellent point that I didn't think of

I've seen the game in play with some of the most horrible glitches that should never be in a beta and then I've heard people on this forum who I trust say that they don't have problems or they do share the same problems.

If there's more then one version out woudn't a worldwide patch set everything right?

From a Tester background I can tell you right now it is not the testers that need fired... it's the release manager for not listening to the testers... Then again... unless the testers really didn't report all of these things as bugs... but in my experience 99% of the time they ignore the testers and test managers to hit a release schedule with the intention of 'patching it later'.

It's good to hear from someone who does have a background in game testing (i'm giving you benefit of the doubt), so we have an idea of the process.

You're absolutely correct then, they should fire the people/person who didn't listen about the bugs thiking they could just roll a patch out later, if it indeed was handled that way. Sometimes release dates are the enemy.

Release date or not, a delay will still bring you sales. Bugs will just bring criticism. Makes it look like laziness and greed.

You're right! I would have gladly wait until October or even December to have a polished game.

Why fire the testers? Just fire Pandemic! :D Honestly, though, I like this game, but it's unpolished to the max.
