I am a preview member and have signed up for the beta, but i have not been the most active in leaving feedback so I doubt I will be in the first roll out.

Looks cool and hope to hear from you lucky dogs that get to try it out first.

@racing247: No, was asking about the new Windows 10 integrated User Interface.

I am pretty sure the Preview program is not accepting anymore user invites. You have to be invited by Microsoft.

I have had it for a while now, and I love it. The first few builds were very rough around the edges, but now after the latest huge update I got yesterday it is slowly getting polished to public release levels.

The main attraction is the new Guide, it is incredibly fast and lets you do many things such as view friends, start parties, view messages, etc. quite faster than the old OS. Overall, many actions , such as simply switching menus, feel more responsive.

There are obviously some bugs still but that is the purpose of the beta testing program and overall I like the progress that I have seen in the past few weeks. Also another thing I enjoy now is you can see more of your custom background, which appears behind most main dashboard sections. I think people will be pleased when it is released to the public.

i got the update last night. I like some things dont like others. Some of the stuff feels like clutter such as all the app recommendations. I wish there was a setting to turn them off. (maybe there is? havent played around with it)

I also dont like how the main window of the home screen has a big rectangle in the bottom left corner that says the name of the app. I can see the game I dontt need a big box saying what it is. Would be nice to be able to turn that off.

I do like how you can maneuver up and down now as well as left and right though and the ability to see more pins is cool. Glad they also put the snap back on the right gain.

I think it would be a little better overall if they just organized the layout just like the Xbox app in Windows 10.

edit: the more i play around with it the more i dont like it :(

seems like my pictture resolution has gone down when watching tv and in recorded game clips. now looks a bit fuzzy. i also liked the old friend window with the scrolling live tile type effect better than the current friends window thats off to the left.

i also liked how the store was arranged before.

Just got the update last night and its super fast by comparison, though I've had trouble with some of the voice commands. Haven't really had time to play around much though, but so far I like the new dash.

Mine popped up last night. The panel on the left (friends, messages, etc.) definitely runs smooth. I have run into some issues with Twitch though. My battery on my controller died causing my broadcast and twitch to completely shut down. I have also been unable to exit apps at times. Its a pretty awesome UI update overall though.

I have it and they made the dashboard even worse. It looks unfinished, watching people's game clips don't work half the time and you have to scroll all the way back up to go back to the home/store/apps screen. It takes the Xbox at least twice as long to boot up from being completely off. It still doesn't notify you when you have been dropped from a party chat which happens at least once a day.

I opted into the NXE, and I just got the update a few days ago. Pretty buggy, but it's a lot faster than the old UI.

Is there going to be an opt out for this? Downloading a gigs worth of updates since the summer is bad enough on the current dash.

@JayQproductions: You do realize this is a beta test right? It pretty much IS unfinished, and many of the bugs you mentioned are listed in the known issues tab of the preview dashboard app.

As for the OP, now that I have had more time to play around with the dash I like the direction they are heading, and hope most of the known issues can be fixed before everyone gets this in November, its really fast and seems easier to navigate.

Had it for a few days now. I like it but it is very buggy at the moment, so you're lucky not to get it early. Launching apps doesn't seem any faster to me, but friends/parties/messages are more easily accessed now.

I'm having all sorts of issues with it since Friday. I understand its a beta but its to the point I'm ready to opt out of the program. I work 60 hours a week and this is seriously putting a dent in my little amount of gaming free time. Now my console keeps randomly turning off my tv and cable box, the game dvr saves are bugged and freeze but the audio plays, my kinect has stopped hearing me most of the time (xbox go home does nothing). I've been reporting bugs all morning but I'm a sad panda.

I hear you can change your opt in status to opt out and do a factory reset on your console and it rolls you back to the default UI but it erases all the content and saves on your console and it takes 72 hours to a week which kinda sucks.

I just lost 2 million credits in bounty in Elite Dangerous =(

Oh well maybe it will get better.

I don't beta test this sort of BS and that's been my policy for years (unless they PAY ME).

It seems like companies prey on people's enthusiasm to test products for them...no thanks.

I don't have time in my day for aggravation when I get home. I paid a decent amount of money for these machines to entertain me.

I have not had any problems with the game saves. But it has restarted maybe once while I was on edge. Also there are times when I am connected to internet and the console foes not register that it is but still will play Netflix and edge, but most other apps that require a sign in like NFL no dice.

I am still getting used to where everything is, but I am not loving it or hating it. It's just pretty OK.

@oflow:

Same for me in terms of my working. It is frustrating when you have two or three hours like I do to game. Witcher 3 had a 16gig update the other day. Should have an option to download these patchs off a website. I good old days of not everything was content driven services. I could boot Witcher after 50 percent of the download.

That would be nice if game updates would just download when it's off like Xbox updates.

The updated UI is super buggy today. They must be working on a ton of stuff today. Edge is completely not working.

Is the community feature in the preview? Could someone expand on that? Is it possible that a Gamespot Community could be created.....
