All fantasy RPG's are pretty much the same. I would suggest playing fable 1 and Oblivion.

i completely disagree. thats like saying every shooter is pretty much the same. tons of rpg's are awful, same with every genre. If you like fable 2, there is no reason to reccomend oblivion imo. totally different games. The only thing they have in common is the whole swords and spells deal. i love fable 2 and hated oblivion.

The best ones I've come across are Lost Odyssey, The Last Remnant (although I only had a quick shot of it) and Mass Effect. I'd particularly recommend Mass Effect - Lost Odyssey's a well scripted game but you spend about 2 years watching cutscenes though!

Depending on why you didn't like Oblivion you might want to check out Fallout 3. If you liked Fable 2 so you much you really should get Fable off Xbox Live Originals, even if it isn't current gen. Fable wasn't the first RPG I played but it was the first I loved and after beating the Lost Chapters every game after that didn't have some kind of RPG elements bored me.

Just don't bother with Two Worlds. It was a waste of brain activity imo.

It's a shame you said current Gen because otherwise I'd recomend KOTOR, KOTOR II and Jade Empire.

That really surprises me, Two Worlds at least kept me interested enough to finish it. I can't say the same for any of the JRPGs for the 360.

Fable 2 is in a league of it's own and should have been GS game of the year. It's the only RPG that I have wanted to keep playing over and over again.

Fable 1 and Jade Empire are still great games, that are pretty similar and you can probably find used copies of each for under $10. Mass Effect is great too. It focused on third person shooting combat and has a really impressive dialogue system. Your choices really affect the world.
