Get a turtle beach X1 from Best Buy. They've got superb sound quality and they are wired but you have plenty of cord.:)

wireless headsets work really well and you dont have to worry about that stupid plug in bending (like on the wired headsets) it takes a couple days to get used to the feeling of it though. Battery life depends on how much sound you put into it and how loud you are. Just charge it at night and it should last the entire day. Personally I'm gonna buy the Ear Force x3 because I like me some "in the game" audio. hope this helps

X1's are better. X3's are only wireless, which means there could be interference, which I've heard there is some, and they go through batteries really fast.

i use X1's, great peice of kit. Wireless mics from Microsoft are crap imo, i got one and got a refund on it 2 days later because it broke due to a technical fault... alot of people get it.

If you want to go with wireless do not use Microsoft's headset, they are terribly uncomfortable and have the battery life of an Apple product.

I've been using a Microsoft wireless mic for a few months now. It's good and bad in it's own ways. I never have gotten used to the thing on my ear...tends to get sore after a short while so I gotta change sides. Irritating. But it is rechargable and cordless means I don't have to worry about carelessly stepping on the cord before getting up causing the mic to be painfully yanked off my head. Its rechargable battery usually lasts me about two days before needing a recharge but I only play for an hour or two a night. When it is charging I revert to my old Microsoft wired headset. Much more comfortable. Microsoft could use a little help in the sound quality on both mics though. I don't know if it is already out there but I wouldn't mind seeing a wireless mic that wears the same as the wired ones to make it more comfortable. ::EDIT:: A wireless RECHARGABLE mic that wears like the wired ones.

im not after a turtle beach headset thanks lol. i just dont know whether to buy a new wired one and risk it breaking or pay extra for a wireless one ( that still might break according to some of you.) if it only has four hours or so battery life tho thats not great :/

mine is broken too, but I'm just gonna go in and buy another wired one, the first lasted me two years. Turtle Beach can run you close to 100 bucks on a mic...people on LIVE aren't that cool.

Haha too right man. A $100 mic would be a total waste of money. Personally I think a $30 mic is too much for the quality they are.

Ive got the microsoft wireless one and it works fine for me. I never have problems with charging, interference or life span, etc. i had like 4 of the wired ones and they just stopped working. so this was a good pickup for me.

The battery life is fairly good. The only problem is they still find a way to break like the wired ones. =-(
