Let me be the 1st to say that Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games, and I think borderlands looks alot like it which is a plus in my opinion, and I have always wanted to add rpg elements to fps games. However it seems like in my experience with games, that games that try to imitate other succesful games such as how two worlds did with Oblivion, and other sandbox games did to gta, usually the imitator is just trying to sell games based on the originals popularity, and usually the gameplay suffers. I really hope this game is great it is one of my most anticipated games of the year next to left 4 dead 2, and mass effect later next yr so I hope its good. I loved thirteen on the pc, and rpg,s and like I said I loved fallout 3, so if this game adds all these elements correctly then it could be one of my favorite games ever, but I have been disappointed before, so what do you guys think? Is there anything that worries you about this game? Also the development team who makes borderlands, and what good games have they made in the past?

I'm not worried. Everything I've seen and read about it was positive, and Gearbox has a good track record with shooters (Brothers in Arms).

Some games don't live up to the hype but not hearing anything negative about this game so far. I'll be interested in the reviews once if finally comes out before I buy.

I think I finally got used to the new graphics style and that's the only thing I've heard comments about. I just hope they put enough play-testing in and it's bug/glitch-free. Gearbox is a solid studio however and they should know their stuff.

I really dont see many similarities between Fallout 3 and Borderlands. Just cuz they're both shooter/RPG hybrids doesn't mean they'll be similar games.

The main thing that it has in common with FO3, another than the obvious of the RPG/FPS hybrid,is the post-apocalyptic world settings, however, remeber this game was started around the same time and independently from FO3, they just had the same ideas. I'm a big fallout fan as well as you are and i have seen every video i could see on Borderlands and i think the FPS aspect of this game will be much better than FO3. Anyhow, if you like RPGs then the random AI drop system which creates hundreds of thousands of different types of weapons, so many that even if you played everyday all day for the rest of your life you would still not see everyone of them, then it has a higher reward system. The one thing that concerned me was the cel-shade but i'm starting to like it. So i say this will be an excellent game. I am putting off buying ODST just for this game so i am sure it will live up to its promises.

This. I think Fallout 3 had some humorous elements to it but was overall a pretty serious tone. From all of the marketing and trailers they've been doing for Borderlands it seems to have a really good sense of humor and will be more light hearted. I'm incredibly excited for hopping in some co-op with people and I like the idea of a Role Playing Shooter with 87 bazillion guns. I'm not worried about this at all.

Thing is you never really can tell if the developer has put in that extra something special into a game until you play it or others play it and give their impressions. So far it has great potential but it's impossible to say one way or the other at this point.

this is top 3 for my game of the year choice. they admitted in the dev diary that they realize there are parts that are totally taken from other games and they know this and thats why they put it in there,

why fix what isn't broken?

already pre ordered off amazon

Only thing I'm worried about is my social life when this game comes out. I might be playing this non stop.
