"You misunderstood. No question about that. Because games have to ship with 1000 unlockable gamerscore out of the box. Otherwise, it's not allowed on the 360."
Games can ship with less than 1000 points, but the downloadbale content to take it up to 1000 points must then be free, hence Crackdown had only 900 at release and the additional 100 + 250 additional were in the "Free For All" pack.
I dont buy the, "there isnt time excuse", if they really had to they could just give all 1000 points when you finish the campaign.
MS dictates that all games on 360 have them, its a standard that wont be changed for anyone.
I remember seeing a trailer interviewing Jade Raymond, the chick of something, something of the game's company, director or something, something. I remember the guy filming her asking her questions and one of them (i could be wrong) was, is there going to be achievements and she said: "No, there isn't enough time."Jade Raymond is the producer, and I did not see that video nor do remember missing any so I do not know if the information you state is true or or false but if it is true then I think if anything they will add in an achievement for just beating the game or go through and devide them up by chapters or something in the game.
I hope I am wrong because I wouldn't like playing a game without achievements since I got sort of addicted to it. Secondly I'm alittle lazy to find the video since it requires minutes of research and hours of downloading/waiting.
I got bad internet, sorry. Me cannot afford good $20 Dollar plan. With good exchange..Alpha172

Actually, they can ship with less but they have to provide up to the 1000 points with free downloadable content.
Anyways, the game will definately have achievements. My problem is that you said you wouldn't like playing a game without achievements? This game looks amazing and you would only like to play it if you get an achivement for logging 40 hours in the game, something you'll probably just leave the game running all night to accomplish? Doesn't make sense...

OH NO WHATEVER WILL WE DO!
who cares really about some points that bear no relevance on the enjoyment of the game? Its not the silly points you'll remember, it'll be the game!
People shouldnt be allowed to game if they only check if the game has achievements, and if it doesnt...wont buy it...its the most stupiest thing iv ever heard of. My GF owns a game shop and trust me, there ARE people like that.
Its really painfully obvious gaming is going down the wrong path. People dont game for fun these days, more so worried about some insignificant point system.
