I really like this game. but one thing i just dont get is why games think they have to base the story in the present. Why must they make up some insane story about memories from ancestors being in the DNA. why cant they just base this story in the time period in which it takes place. why must i be strapped to this machine to play the actual game. cut out all this bs about this machine that takes me back to my ancestors memories. why cant the story just be about the dude you get to play. i hate the fact that they think they make the story cooler/more believable by adding a present day element. it just makes the game worse. thanks.bluntmastaslaya
yeah, I agree. It's some B.S. soft science gimic to make it feel more like " the matrix" because obviously that's what's so damn "cool" now days with the younguns

I think it was the perfect set up for the sequel...you know the part where Desmond regained the vision skill even outside of the animus....:D
I only played an hour or so and what i have played is pretty cool. I like the free running. Anyway its got me interested and id recommend it to others. dragonslayerssj
Play the game more and do missions. The game really gets you interested fast, but then you'll notice that it really gets repetitive even faster.

Would be nice. :). Harder to make a good story line in that time though maybe.
This story line is quite unique :).

Graphic - 9.5/10 ( One of the best looking game on 360 right now.)
Story - 7/10 ( it's decent, not really epic.)
Game play - 5/10 (One of the most repetitive game on 360 right now.)
Replay value - 3/10 ( I don't see myself playing this game ever again.)
Overall - 7/10 ( Solid rent, but not really a buy imo.)
I completed it just before christmas (so I could concentrate on Kane and Lynch after Christmas)
I think its a great game, I wasn't to sure as I heard the hype had ruined it. But I rented it and loved it and once I was paid that month I got it. Will most likely play through it again sometime as I enjoyed it a lot. I loved doing the view points and saving the citizens.
I did all the investigations as well. To get the full experience from the game and it was worth it. I loved doing the counters just for the pure violence of some of the kills.
I love the game but I came across a glitch...I go up and synchronize the whole town (to search for my pickpocket or interrogation etc.) Nothing comes up and i have searched the whole map. The assassins bureau guy tells me to finish my work and stop screwing around. ANY HELP?atruebassist
Are you sure that the post or tower ur synchronizing isnt an old one? if its a new mission on the same map, you have to locate a new tower in the 'blurred' map area and sync there. HTH

dude come on some people haven't beaten the game you didn't have to ruin it you could have at leas t said spoiler or somethingto the poster when i first heard of the sci fi twist i thought it was stupid as a progressed in the game it became clear why they did that and i can't wait for the next 2 games
hey thanks for the help. It wasnt an old one but i did have to find one for myself in the blurred area.

I personally thought the game was very interesting and i can't wait for ac 2/3.
I don't know if anyone is going to take the time to do it, but someone should try to decode the writing at the end on the floors of the lab. it is in english and it seems like it would say SOMETHING. but someone should try to decode it.
and i think that it is setup with the present day aspect to setup the next ac because lucy says "we may need him"
it makes sense that he would be an "assassin" like person
one last thought:
i need to figure out the passwords for the other two computers!!!!!
lucy's is easy but i need the other two.

The writing has been decoded, somewhere on ignI think, and it explains in detail what all the writing/symbols mean. Also, many people neglect to do this, but every chance you get, TALK TO LUCY. You will find out so muchg more about the story, and make the present day part of the game more interesting. For example early in the game, you find that Desmond was being trained to be an Assassin until he ran away at 16 years old, I bet hardly anyone knew that tidbit;) and through these conversations you learn so much more as well as recieving an achievment for going through all dialogue with lucy.
To quoted poster, after the 2nd assasination, you return to present day. When you wake up, Vidic goes through this long dialogue then walks towards a huge window behind his desk, at that time walk behind him and pickpocket his pen. Somehow by stealing the pen you get the password to both warren's computer and the one in the board room. You must read all the e-mails on both comps. to get even more knoledge of the story and situation surrounding it.
Throughout the present day parts, you will see Desmond display a lot of Altair's abilities as you progress. With what the e-mails said about ancestor synching or whatever they called it, you have to believe Desmond will be quite the badass in Assassin's Creed 2. I can see it now, free running through modern day landscapes, dodging bullets, and assassinating fire-arm equipped guards....Come on Assassin's Creed 2!!!
I thought assassins creed was a great game and one of my favorites
but at the end, I lost track of the story with the symbols and what not, they were written im guessing by some former assassin held captive there or somthing but
could someone clear that up

Whoops...spoilers then...go tell the others as well.
I certainly dont think it makes it worse. I find it extremely interesting - how everything has been going on since the Middle ages. Espcially the end, if you've played it - it sets up the next AC very well.FrozenTw
exactly. and blunt im not trying to ruin it but the ending is great. you will love it.
