Average age for xbox gamers?

With a few exceptions, I have found that most people online seem to be in there 20's or older. What is the average age do you think?

I'm 33, so I guess I'll set the mark high.

If I was a betting man I would say the average would be 12, cause thats what seems to be on the other end of my headset every time I try to play....MrYates808

I dont know the average age, but im 15.

I'd say the average age ONLINE is 18 or 19. The average age of Xbox gamers in general is probably something like 15. It would be hard to get an accurate estimate on a Gamespot forum, because the majority of us are in the 16-30 set (some older, a small amount under). The only way to really estimate would be to poll a couple thousand people, ensure you're not focusing on one niche (like online gaming) and find the median age. If you were to do the same here, you would end up with a median age around 20 or 22.

You mean the asians? I get one or two of those every now and again. All the 12 year olds are normally all on Halo 3. Other then that, I would say the average age is 19-20. I would say 75% are 18+ with 15% being 12 and under and 5% being asian and 5% being other. I base all this on nothing.

Everyone seriously under estimates the average age of gamers. Teenagers appear to be on the lower tail of the distribution. I did a google search and found mutiple sources that state the average age of a gamer is anywhere between 29 and 33. I myself am right there around that average at 34.

Although, according to one of those articles, the console crowd tends to be younger than the pc gamer - which makes sense due to the high cost of pc gaming.

I think there are a lot of older gamers that aren't counted on websites like this.

its a hobby, same as its always been, and video games as a hobby have always been popular with adults. (just like models, electric trains, Remote control cars, airplanes, boats.)
