I really like the idea of this gizmo in bf3, but no matter how many times I use it, it feels useless. First off, it's the hardest thing in bf3 to steer. It's also incredibley weak, and one measley inaccurate bullet seems to be able to take it out. Im also pretty sure its auto spotted on the enemies mini map. Compare it to other equipment and you can see how under powered it is.

I know I dont have to use it, but it bugs me that this mini robot you can use to arm charges and burn people is right there in my disposal, such a neat thing. Maybe I just dont know how to use it right. I rarely see other players use it, but I want to know if others of you use this thing, or have any interesting stories about the eod bot, and whether or not you think it's underpowered.

I think the patch made it harder for me to steer.. Its an ok tool to use once in awhile to try and sneak in and cause a panic by arming the MCOM...

Yup, that's the only time I ever use it is in rush

It's useful in some instances in rush. To make the thing more useful I have always thought that they should remove the ability to spot it. I could see it becoming more of a force if the opposing team was unable to see the giant red/orange icon over it.

On conquest, the eod bot could be a stealthy way to damage enemy vehicles with its repair tool, but unfortunatley, its easily ran over. But for the sake of the eod bot's usefullness, it should be granted the immunity of vehicles wheels

ya I agree. It would be lots more fun to use if you knew you weren't a huge dot on the minimap. The eod bot is smaller than a soldier anyway

Obviously no one here plays HC matches. THe EOD bot is a nucence in these. I've seen entire squads send out wave after wave of EOD bots to kill people with it's torch when they aren't playing attention. THen when we do kill the bot a support player just gives the person ammo so they spawn another wave of EOD bots to send out again. It's been pretty scary because i've been playing matching and get a red mark on my screen to turn aruond and see 4 EOD bots chacing me. All of the sudden BF3 is Terminator Rise of the Machines...

Your right, I've never tried hardcore matches, but that sounds fun haha. Wouldnt the eod bots be easy to kill though, especially in hardcore?

You would think, but they are sneaky when they roll in packs.

I've taken out many tanks with the EOD. Normally bullets won't hit me because I'm so experienced with it and have gotten use to the disgusting steering.

Thats cool. Whenever I feel threatened with the EOD bot I just sit there and hope they dont see me, but thats probably the wrong thing to do. I should drive around more and take evasive action.
