Last I looked MW3 is continuing and picking up where MW2 left off. Doesnt that qualify it as a sequel? You can enjoy both games, but that doesn't mean you can't critisize the developers. MW3 is going to be fun, but you can't deny that this is a complete profit generator. Sequels are supposed to be similar (if the original was good), and I think alot of gaming companies are learning from the Halo3 -> Reach transition. However it's completely clear that MW3 doesn't qualify as a sequel. It's insulting how little is changing with this game and selling for the price of a sequel (heard rumors it might even be $70).
The fact is, Tryarch and Infinity Ward are using the "Madden tactic". NFL Madden games have a new iteration every year, with basically the exact same game. However, they can do this because THE GOD DAMN LEAGUE CHANGES! There is no significant factor that requires MW3 to be released other than overstaffing of the developer companies.

The Modern Warfare series seems to me as though it has a very good story-line in the campaigns; however, the multiplayer doesn't seem to be too interesting. Battlefield 3 (based off the beta) has a very good multiplayer. Multiplayer seems to always trump campaign in most first-person shooters, so I suggest you go with Battlefield 3. In addition, it'll last longer than MW3.

Well I don't pay $60 for a campaign. I dont know about anyone else but the only justification I have for buying a game is the multiplayer.
[QUOTE="driftingsilvia"]other how is that? few minor changes =mw3. new MP maps, new SP, most likely 80% of the guns is the same. same game engine, same game franchise, same game elements, same same same. Not sure where you guys get your information, but MW3 is a completely diffrent game than any other CoD ever released.

[QUOTE="Totemz"]In my opinion I would go with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for a few reasons. 1. In Battlefield once you unlock all the weapons, attachments, vehicle upgrades, which all may take a while that is it. You can't redo it, I enjoy striving for unlocking new item rather than sitting will a lot of weapons in my inventory. 2. In Battlefield there has been a lot of spawn killing with enemy sniper, this is not with every map in the game but it does happen a lot, and the only hope is for you or one of your squad mate manage to get out, by the time you would spawn with the squad member there might be one or two enemies waiting for you to run around the corner. In Call of Duty, I think spawning could be a little better because I have spawned in a room where a enemy threw a grenade or is running just around the corner, very rare occasion do it spawn down their sights. 3. "Special vehicles" in a match could make or break the match. It can make it if EVERYONE can agree on who takes what that will help the team. Break it if there is team killing just so they can have the vehicle, or don't know how to use it and crash 10 seconds late. Enemy team races towards your special vehicle and spawn kills until they can take your vehicle. Once again this is my opinion I might get both because I enjoy any type of shooters that have great online experience. I just think I might wait till MW3 comes out first before getting BF3 mostly because of money and might also get Skyrim.DylanTheVillyn
Spawn killing, team killing, and campers, sounds more like CoD to me. The fact is that CoD has horrible spawn system, add that to several OP guns and non-linear maps (and corner campy btw) and it makes a very unfinished feeling game. Kill streaks are a horrible idea, it makes the rich get richer, if you want a good kill streak in CoD, all you have to do is get air support and camp in a building. The damage system is horrid, it takes 2 shots to kill someone (give or take) and it makes people who have the faster twitch come out on top against better players. Since we are talking about MW3, I want to also talk about how MW2 turned out, silencers not silencing, misaligned iron sights, recoiless assault rifles, OMA danger close noob tubes, and your going to buy MW3? IW does not care about their games or support them at all. It took Dice a few weeks to realize that the M60+magnum ammo might be a little too strong, IW NEVER realized that the Scar, Tar, ACR, noob tubes are way out of balance. You are clearly just overlooking CoD problems because you are a fanboy of the series.
QFT. He basically listed issues with CoD as issues with BF.
Not sure where you get YOUR info... How bout this: "Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it" Activision hasnt learnedNot sure where you guys get your information, but MW3 is a completely diffrent game than any other CoD ever released.

Im really tired of this being the only topic this holiday season....do people realize there are more games coming out than these two.......oh by the way...im getting both lolmrsniper83Yeah I'm actually looking more forward to other games than either of these 2.
I'll get both BF3 and MW3,among Halo:CE,GR:FS,Tomb Raider,BIA Furious 4,that's just to name a few.There's more games then CoD:MW3 and BF3.

Honestly, I have played both of the series' games from day one. I played the original Call of Duty, United Offensive, CoD2, CoD4, MW2, World at War and Black Ops. I loved CoD2, as you can see in my xfire hours, CoD4 was also a good game, but after that, the CoD series turned to garbage I played Battlefield 1942, 2142, BF2, Bad Company 2 and I will purchase BF3 and not MW3. Overall, Battlefield is just such a better game than CoD in every single way. I'm not a one sided fanboy of a series I have played both and I can tell you that Battlefield 3 will be much better than Modern Warfare 3.
The thing I can say is that they are starting to drift away from one another in an aspect that BF3 is more realistic/simulation and MW3 and the CoD series is more arcadey.
I got my hands on MW3 this weekend, also I bought BF3 the night it came out. After playing both of them I would have to say that my vote goes to COD.Sure there is a new one every year and they are getting to be the same game every year, but you know, they are awesome games and you dont fix what ain't broken.Kill Confirmed in MW3 is the best game mode in a FPS that I have played in a long time.mrsniper83Sooo, by that logic we should all be driving '67 VW Beetles? They work. No need for things like fuel injection and disc brakes. In any case, every game maker should look to improve. and the CoD MW formula is getting stale and they are milking it to death.
