Which games do you think have excellent gameplay and concentrate more on the fun from the gameplay and at the same time are beginner friendly and accessible. So if a perosn comes along who has never played a game in its series, he can start off the game easily witout any frustration.By frustration I mean the frustration resulting from a incomprehensible story or seemingly impossible controls etc.

And do you think these games are as described above:

Dead or Alive 4

Virtua Fighter 5 Online

Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

Forza Motorsports 2

Ninja Gaiden II

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter I/II

Rainbow Six Vegas I/II

Isnt Oblivion daunting and dont you ahve to build up your charchter before you start enjoying?

Well I tried the demo for Civ Rev today and I ahvent really played the past Civ games properly. The demo wasnt exactly accessible. I mean I just kept getting warrior uits and I had to move them. There wasnt any aim so to speak. No clue what was going on. Unless this game gets a very high rating, I dont think I will get it.

Actually, you're pretty godly even at the beginning of the game, but it depends on the difficulty it's in.

I wouldn't say Forza, its very unforgiving. Maybe an arcade game such as PGR4 though

Vegas could give a new person some trouble.

Also even though it seems childish the Lego games (Star Wars and Indiana Jones) are a lot of fun and accessible to just about anyone.

All of the games the TC posted are definitley NOT begginer friendly, fighting games require lots of time to get very good at, Ninja Gaiden 2 I don't even have to comment on, Forza is pretty hard if you;re not used to racing sims, Oblivion is very intimidating to new gamers. I could go on but I think I made my point.

Kind of, its very immersive so you get sucked in and could freak out because of the creepy atmosphere. Bioshock and Halo 3 I think are the best games for a begginer since they're simple.

Bioshock is great for the singleplayer experience. If you've never been a fan of Halo then Im would say Halo3 is better for a rental cause the campaign is kinda short. A question, are these games for you and if so how much of a begginer are you/the person the games are for? The only really difficult games you mentioned are probably Ninja Gaiden 2 and Forza if you don't play a lot of racing games, the best can be enjoyed by everyone if they like that sort of genre but none are good for a new gamer.

Dead or Alive 4 & Virtua Fighter 5 online - are fighting games & therefore are button mashers - NOT user friendly

Ninja Gaiden - is one of the most difficult games to play with a very confusing story - NOT user friendly

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter & Rainbow Six Vegas - FPS with action & a straight-forward story - user friendly

Forza Motorsport 2 - Racing game with cars from across the globe on several technical tracks - user friendly

Oblivion - a huge RPG with great story, action, graphics, weapons & easy controls - user friendly

HALO 3 - a FPS with a story that you can catch onto easily, also great game-play & easy controls - user friendly

Bioshock - a FPS with a slightly confusing but still good story, not really horror genre but has gore, with controls that are very easy to understand - user friendly

Alright than, substitute all the "user" with beginner. That would make more sense know won't it?

Now that I know a bit more of your gaming experience I can recommend getting both Tom Clancy games since they have a similar playstyle to Gears of War, also get Bioshock if you like good stories and immersive gameplay. Halo 3 remains a rental for you if you don't plan on getting online.

I got the demo for Vegas. I didnt like it that much. I will ahve to play around with the controls maybe. I am going to try out GRAW as well soon.

I dont really care about stories lol. I want the gameplay. Som people criticized Gears that its story was too shallow. while that is true, its alright for me because the gameplay compensated.

I will borrow Halo 3 from my friend if he gets it. Otherwise let it go ormaybe get it once its discounted.

You can always play GTA4, Saints Row, Dead Rising is also a very fun game. Those 3 rely heavily on messing around and having fun with the gameplay.

Well that sucks, either way there's a lot to play out there, don;t worry about finding games that are too hard it all comes easy after one adjusts. Good luck on whatever you choose to get.

Do not get Assassin's Creed. It is extremely repetative, and it gets dull pretty fast, with a weird story and very dumb ending. I would suggest you try the Condemned series. With a great storyline, good graphics, some parts that will scare the living daylights out of you, as well as easy controls. It is a very enjoyable game/

Nearly every one of the games you've asked about has a playable demo on Xbox Live. Just download them and try them out. If they seem like you can play them, then buy the game. By asking people, you're getting very impersonal responses. People are just talking about how the game was when they played it. Checking them out for yourself is the only real way of knowing if they're right for you.

I will agree with the Lego series being user friendly with little to no learning curve, however, I would have to disagree with your comment about RSV2. I was new to this series when I played and had no trouble at all.

Both Virtua Fighter 5 and Ninja Gaiden 2 are some of the most hardcore games ever created, so no, they're not for beginners, however, Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 are pretty easy to understand, have great replay value andearned many awards, stay away from Bioshock, it sucks bad, as for Dead or Alive 4 i cant say, havent played it yet, but if you're thinking of giving it to a kid, or playing it with kids, it has a lot of parcial nudity and sexual themes, also though Oblivion is a great game, its not for casual gamers, it took me more than 100 hours to fully understand it.

I would also recommend you to download Geometry Wars from the Xbox Live Marketplace, see the demo, if you like it then buy it, its really addictive but its fairly simple too.

If you like the free roaming games then I would also recommend Crackdown. Yeah it's kinda old but the gameplay is still solid and its just fun to go jumping around the city killing bad guys, you could also pick it up for pretty cheap too I would say about 20 bucks at the very most more likely around $15.
