Yeah kotor 1 was great too, Played it the first time last year and i really enjoyed it a lot, especially the story too. Kotor 2 i never finished because it bored me to death.
FF7 is one of my all time fav story based games. mass effect is amazing, aswell as the half-life saga. but i honestly think that if you like the "story" in cod4 you must either know nothing about story telling, or realy love watching CNN.
what are you people talking about? The story in the original Half Life SUCKED. It was incoherent, completely random, had no character development, and was utterly irrelevant. The story only served to get you from action scene to action scene and then make room for a sequel. The game itself was one of the best games ever, but don't kid yourself, the story was god aweful. Anyway, my answer would be Bioshock....but since that's not an option aparently, I'll go with Final Fantasy 12.
freespace 2 had an amazing story that was unfortunatly never finished but the ending leaves so many unanswered questions that ive been dying for a freespace 3 ever since
Legend of Zelda OoT, Metal Gear Solid 1 &3, FF7,8 and there are some other good games with awesome storylines but the games themself are not too memorable but bioshock imo has the best storyline for 07
