RE 5 was horrible. I played it after L4D and it was nothing but disappointment. If shooting the undead is your thing then you want Left for Dead. There's opportunity for strategic coop and vs play as well as mindless destruction and blood splatter.
Either Battlefield Bad Company or World @ War gets my vote, I would give Call Of Duty 4 the nod but that game gets annoying at times with all the jack-a$$ team mates I always end up with, all of my friends play WaW.
I have a few to name, and I mostly own all of them except for a few. Grand Theft Auto IV, Burnout Paradise, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, and Team Fortress 2. I've never played Left 4 Dead online, but by the looks of it, it looks pretty good.
CoD 4 although starting to age a little still has one of the best MP to date. Fun, action packed, and a quick pace. Reason I stopped playing was due to a bunch of little kids with their modded controllers thinking they were good when the just ended up ruining the experience of the game. Don't let that deter you from playing the game though. Its still fun from time to time. L4D is another great game just as long as you have people playing with a team objective in mind and not out there for themselves. Fun none the less. CoD WAW is good if you like zombies. MP doesn't stand up to CoD4 in my opinion but its not horrible either. Zombies are fun though just a little repetitive at times. Halo is just way too slow for me. Not bad but not great. I used to like it then CoD4 came out and changed my views. Just got boring after that. Just don't like the whole over shield thing and it bugs the hell out of me that i can't run. My 2 cents for what its worth.
hmm now i know just about every one here is going to disagree but ive played 90% per cent of all the games mentioned and i cant help but feel like they are all too unreal, i am a huge lover of realittic games, halo was crazy(dont get me wrong the game was semi ok for me but then you have to put up with the abuse of other players), gears 2, i couldnt stand (cant put my finger on why) i hated modern warfare one and 2 for the fact that the maps were only as big as my living room... now ready to disagree? I love bad company 2. its great some one sed that it lags... well not the case with me ive never experienced that, the game play is very realistic, weopans are very realistic, the environment sizes are excellent, and beautiful, the players arent abusive, it gets you to play as a team which is uncommon in war games, most of the way through the multiplayer experience you will unlock more weapons and scopes that just really satisfied me and kept me playing for hours ive currently logged around 50 hours on multiplayer alone i recommend it to any one that loves a realistic game, also if you want to add me as frend my tag is jarrodchambo
Battlefield Bad Comany 2. Huge, open maps, lot of vehicles and multiple classes to play as. Rush mode is so fun because it keeps the action centered on a specific area so you always know where you should be. Destructable buildings so you can bring it down on the objective/enemies. Also, the sniping is very satistfying!
For competitive play: Battlefield Bad company 2 and COD 4-Invested a lot of hours in these. Not sure how the online community is currently standing in COD 4 at this moment however. Also Gear of War 2 is quite fun.
For Coop-Borderlands and L4D 1 or 2-Cant recommend Borderlands enough I love this game. the L4D series is fun if you're into Killing zombies. I also liked RE5 coop as well.
i think it may be modern warfare 2, but im a big fan of left 4 dead 2 and play left 4 dead 1 every now and again. if fallout was online, that would beat everything else easily though.
i dont agree with that game online been broken since its launch but gears 1 on the other hand had a more successful online GEARS OF WAR 3 WILL BE THE BEST. DEDICATED SERVERS OH YEAH

DEDICATED SERVERS OH YEAH I agree, although i still find myself playing Gears 2 sometimes. I think the first one was a boat load better than the second one though, It's just way more fun. Also what's the deal with reviving 1 year old thread on here.
