Ive been waiting since i heard about it for Two Worlds to come out. Then when its finally here it totally lets me down!!! And Blue Dragon waited so patiently for that and when the demo came out i was already let down. Even with Crackdown reading about it before it was released in GI took more time than actually beating the game. Anyone else feel like games that are getting so much hype and attention are not all they cracked up to be?

Bioshock, Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas, etc. Were all hyped to be great games, they were, so no I don't think that all big games are big disappointments, but there defiantly are a few.

i feel the same way though i wasnt really much into Two Worlds.

the Blue Dragon demo was disappointing even though it was hyped so much.

but i did like Crackdown albiet it was very short. its fun putting on some music and just exploring the city looking for orbs and what not.

Of course hype ruins things. But there are some games that actually live up to it, like Bioshock.

If you actually paid attention to Blue Dragon previews and videos, you could tell there really wasn't anything amazing about it. Everything screamed generic. JRPGs need to get out of the turn-base phase and typical cookie-cutter story, need a better developed game world, and cast. Like what FFXIII is doing, expanded world, action oriented battles, this looks like a step in the right direction.

From the sounds of it you're getting too excited about the wrong games, it takes a discerning eye to judge the quality of a game before it's released, take the exciting stuff developers say about their games with a few jars of salt, chances are most games will not live up to their hype.

Why does everyone hate two worlds? I have been looking foreward to it for a while and i started getting discouraged by all the negative talk. I got it anyway and at first i didnt know what to do because there is no tutorial but after playing for about an hour and a half I was just addicted! It got really fun!

there have been many let downs but that is why you don't buy a game unless you are for sure that it will be good, i always rent games first or at least read several reviews.

games you should be looking forward to that will most likely live up to the hype are:

Halo 3
Mass Effect
Assasin's Creed
Call Of Duty 4
Project Gotham Racing 4
Grand Theft Auto IV

someone please fill in games i didn't mention as those are games i definately want

I don't think Two Worlds was ever hyped up to be a big game It just takes place in a setting that makes it seem that way.

Personally I think the problems here sit with the previews and the way they are reported. In most previews there is hardly ever anything negative at all about whats been played why: 1) Because it's not the finished product things can change 2) Because if you start trash talking a game before it's released this can really upset the designers/ publishers which could restrict your access to this and future games ... it's true it can happen The trick is to read between the lines in any review after all not every game can be that great or play that well .... leave the hype until the game is released and everyone's allowed to review it honestly!!!
