bioshock 9.0 wtf

I love bioshock it rocks but why did they gave it that forza got 9.2 rating so why did they give bioshock 9.0 why not 9.5. When I saw the review I was not hapy about it. Ing and diffrent sites gave it a beter score then gears of war so why this.hogowagh

Forza is much longer and it has multiplayer. This gen, critics are suckers for multiplayer

yeaaah id say 9.0 is too much even. while the graphics are great and its quite a fun game its not really next gen. There's absolutely nothing new here and it didnt live up to even a quarter of what it was promising. Even while being hugely disappointing and not living up to expectation it still deserves an 8.0 or 8.5 for the story, length and fun gameplaySoldi3r1stClass

I think Bioshock is lucky to have gotten all the praise it has. So I think a 9.0 is probably more than it deserves. After everyone hyping it so much I dont think it really lives up to that, and most people just dont have the balls to admit that its really nothing more than Doom with some neat tricks here and there. I'd say 8 or 8.5 at most, both of whuch by the way are still great scores. Hype can do alot to sway the opinions of the feeble minded. I look to Halo for a hype machine, while it may not be as good as everyone says these games are still great in their own way and to people who like them.

For the most part I just dont like Bioshock. Something about it just doesnt do it for me, it just ended up being a circle strafe back peddling doom like combat festival, with like I said the neat things spread about.

I think it was those neat things that everyone bit into and used to pull the game ahead of what it really is.

I'd give it a 7.5 or 8. Good graphics and effects, a great story/atmosphere and.... That's it. AI is simple (I don't understand why people find it so involved). The game was basically a very watered down version of System Shock 2. Why isn't Bioshock ground breaking? Because System Shock 2 was and it came out years ago.

This is of course only my opinion and I by no means think everyone should agree with it.

Bioshock isvisually beautiful with a good story and generic gameplay game and little to no replay value and no multplayer i am surprised it got in the 9's i was thinking in the 8's.and Forza 2 has everything multplay, great gameplay, endless replay value.

I appreciate everyone has an opion but when you say it's a Doom clone and would give it an 8, I have to wonder at your tastes when you give PDZ a 9, a football game a 9.8 and Kameo a 9.1 Something tells me you should get a refund for those two cents...

Saying a game is a doom clone is a weak argument really. Maybe people are hating for the point of hating.

Gamespot's reviews are completely worthless.

Anyone with common sense knows Bioshock is a million times better than Rare's garabage Perfect Dark game.

EVERYTHING that Irrational Games promised is there.

What the **** is it missing? The game is perfect.

At the end of the day does it really matter? Reviews are opinions, they gave it what they thought in there opinion.

Beyond that they were reviewed by different people.

Forza 2 was Alex N.

BioShock was Jeff G.

Who's to say that if they both reviewed by Alex or by Jeff the scoring would have been the same? Maybe if Alex had reviewed BioShock he might have gave it a 9.5 because just "got it" more than Jeff did. Oh yeah, but really does it matter?

Forza 2 is a game I will be playing for a long time, maybe even years. I feel it is the best console racing sim released thus far and deserved every bit of the 9.2 score it received.

BioShock is also an excellent title. 9.0 is good to me. I've had it since it was released and just finished it last night on my first play through. Granted I work full time so I may have been able to beat it sooner if I sat at home all day playing it. I plan on picking it back up in a week or two and playing again on the hardest difficulty. Then it will go on a shelf, and 3 or for months from now I may play it again on easy. I might even try things like beating the game without firing a bullet, or playing with no plasmids equipment. Plenty of replay there for my tastes. Just like a castelvania game.

Nothing new, bioshock brings a load of new elements to the fps genre.

I think bioshock was rated apropriatlythey rated it for what it is.Its a single player experiance with a great story. Kind of like when Gamespot gave thps 3 a 10. plus bioshock has pretty good replay value im playin it through another time.

If you don't think that Bioshock is "next-gen" then I think your in for a big disappointment over the next 4 years.

I think you have to look at this through a bigger scope. I went to reviews and went from highest review game down to 9.0's and here are some of the results (i chose games i thought everyone would know). (note only 4 perfect 10's on gamespot) (also note i guarantee if you go to other review sites like ign they reviewed it higher as they are easier graders i feel, so remember 9.0 is not the universal grade for the game...just what gamespot thought)

god of war 1 and 2, vice city, ff 10, granida 1, black and white, forza1 and 2, prince of persia warrior within age of mythology/empires 2, pikmin 2, skies of arcadia, baldurs gate!, F.E.A.R. tactics ogre, ogre battle 64, starcraft.

now, to whoever posted this, think to yourself does bioshock belong with these games OR with games that were rated 9.0

rainbow 6 vegas for ps3, okami (second best game of last year) and dragon quest 8? or should it go with the elites of all time?

i know realistically i am hard pressed to say that bioshock is better than many of the games rated over 9.0 and frankly look at the company it has at 9.0, its great company. Be proud you own, played, and hopefully beat a very good game and one of the best released in the past few months, certainly not one of the bests EVER, however.

Halo 2's camapign was complete crap and it got a 9.4

Bioshock's campaign was gold. Perfection and it gota 9.0
