bioshock 9.0 wtf

Last time I checked, a 9.0 was a very good score.

It's funny, I remember when people were happy to see a goodgame get a 7.5, now it seems a game must suck if it got anything less than a 9, or a 9.2 in this case.Joeker501

I do my best to avoid all games that score under a 6.5. Unless I REALLY like the subject matter or it's nice and cheap.

Halo 2's camapign was complete crap and it got a 9.4

Bioshock's campaign was gold. Perfection and it gota 9.0

Bioshock didn't need mulitplayer. In my opinion, it would've taken attention away from the amazing story/gameplay. A lack of multiplayer should never figure negatively into a game's score.

I think Bioshock's rating was fair to be honest. Its not perfect but it is a great game.agentluap

I love bioshock it rocks but why did they gave it that forza got 9.2 rating so why did they give bioshock 9.0 why not 9.5. When I saw the review I was not hapy about it. Ing and diffrent sites gave it a beter score then gears of war so why this.hogowagh

So far I have loved Bioshock (I am right at the end, and will finish it tonight), but I agree this game is not a 10.0 or a 9.5. Honestly it can get a little repetitive, and the constant fetching, backtracking is a little annoying. However this is a ground breaking game, and one that only adds to the crowded FPS genre, just like Gears of War (which is also not a perfect game) I hope developers can build upon the ideas that both of these games depicted.

The only thing I don't understand is why does everyone hate on Bioshock for lack of multiplayer. I agree that multiplayer would add replay value to my $60 purchase, but I think that overall the title would only be weakend by multiplayer. (Although I am a sucker, and purchased Shadowrun for multiplayer only, in retrospect that was not as good of a game as I ranked it, and I hardly play it anymore) Multiplayer might have taken more of the developers time, and thus weakend the story and all the different ways you can play Bioshock. Bioshock is a great game, a 9.0 is an excellent score, and this is a title everyone should play. (If you are a fan of FPS and RPG type games.)

I can't even believe so many people are dissing this game. Are you on crack? Actually if you were on crack you'd like this game even more. So what's the deal? It's stealing Halo's thunder? You don't have a 360? Your mom won't buy you the game? How can you say this game is unoriginal and a dissapointment. Right now it's ranked as the 4th best game of all time, soooo I think all you haters should give this game a chance, I bet half of you haven't played it.g-rash

i rated it 9.5. It has some flaws sure. But never before in gaming has anyone even tried to bring a story of this calibur to the table. But i have no problems with a 9 outta 10 for a score i wasnt sure what people were complaining about. Also under the old system that forza is in we dont know what it would have gotten.pigonthewing

One flaw I noticed was that at certain times in the game the camera would rotate out of control and I would be looking at the ceiling. It was pretty weird.

Get off the online multi-player. Who gives a flyin ....

Online multiplayer is so overdone and repititive why does it need to show up in every game? That is like blasting Quake Arena because it has not story.

The game probably deserved better than a 9, but by giving it lower, it draws attention to Gamespot which is what they want.

Get over it and have fun playing the game. Ignore the peoplethat are hating on the game, they wouldnt know a good time if it sat on their face and wiggled.

i agree. forza was a gran turismo rip off. it hada bunch of tracks from GT and i got bored pretty quick.the online was ok andthe customization feature was better than the game itself. i traded in forza 2 having logged less than 10 hoursso i could get bioshock which was a far superior game experience. forza more like 7.0 - bioshock is ok at a 9 but if they had the old system it probably would have come in arounf 9.3 or so - guess they rounded down in their heads.

I personally really hate Bioshock and it deserves a 7.5 rating or lower for poor, pathetic game idea and character design.Alpha172

yeaaah id say 9.0 is too much even. while the graphics are great and its quite a fun game its not really next gen. There's absolutely nothing new here and it didnt live up to even a quarter of what it was promising. Even while being hugely disappointing and not living up to expectation it still deserves an 8.0 or 8.5 for the story, length and fun gameplaySoldi3r1stClass

Now that a 360/PS3 game is $60 (and up), it has to justify itself a lot more and can't depend on the impulse buy that a lot of movies enjoy.

LMAO, those tracks are real world tracks. Racing sims aren't for everyone, and you can hate the game all you want but it deserved the score it got. And since Racing is a sport, it didn't rip of Gran Turismo any more than NBA 2K8 ripped off NBA Live 08. Seriously if you're gonna bash something at least know what the hell you're talking about.

Im surprised how hard people are on games anymore. This game is very well put together and has new things that make this game a true next gen. No multiplayer? Who cares. This game was not made for MP, so if you are going to gripe about that aspect then dont buy it. I mean how can you judge a game on MP when it was never intended to have it?drdrillnfill

Really? Name one... one NEW element itsbrought to the fps genre. ONE SINGLE thing it hasnt stolen from other fps's along. Not only is it not next gen but its not even half as good as System Shock 2. It fun sure. But the fanboys had made their minds up about LONG before it came out.

Bioshock is overrated. It's just like the condemned, which got a lower rating because it was short, even though it is just as long as Bioshock. Bioshock's reason for not having multiplayer was to have an epic single player, but then why is this epic single player so short? IMO is deserves an 8.0.jcant

I think so the game was so short, it should have some kind of multiplayer. I'm not saying Halo or COD mulitplayer, but like a simple kind of deathmatch, or co-op would be good.

That's just my personal opinion, but that's why I think it only deserves an 8.0.
