bioshock plasmid question

Before I buy electro bolt level 3 do i need to get electro bolt 2??? just wondering if i need to spend the adam on level 2 when i want level 3

Not 100% shure but i think u can skip plasmids from 2 to 3...and save adam.is it because achievents? Anybody can confirm if im right?

i just want to know if i can get electro bolt 3 without wasting adam on electro bolt 2...that way i can buy other stuff

Little correction:I meant yes,you can skip any plasmid from 1 to 3.
