Bioware making next Halo game??????

Hi,

Halo:origins volume 1 the forerunner chronicles. An RPG.

I just heard on the 1up podcast that Mark Mcdonald is leaving 1up for austin texas to work on the next halo game made by Bioware, which makes very little sense since EA bought Bioware but MS owns the Halo IP.

This deal must have been made before the EA deal.

Has anybody else heard anything about this.

It was announced at the start of the podcast and ive been waiting to see if it was a joke but they seem deadly serious.

I hope its a mass effect style RPG nota turn based RPG.

Mark Mcdonald left ziff davis and announced with a press releae that Bioware were making the next halo game, a prequel and itwill be an RPG.

Mark is going to work for Bioware as a writter on the new halo RPG.

I just came in and downloaded the podcast, after listening for 20mins i checked some boards and noticed there was nothing about this i thought the internet would have lit up.

Am surprised this is not all over the place and i thought it was a fake, but Mark said he had the press release in his hand and they seem deadly serious.

I knew mark was leaving and heard he was going into game development, but i never thought this would be the news.

Seems MS were amking there own deals before the EA deal, why buy Bioware for 500mil when you already have several exclusive publishing deals with them.

After the EA deal it was announce that all of Biowares current deals would still be in place, microsofts deal for mass effect 1, and the sonic rpg.

This is crazy news, i assumed someone else would make a new halo game but i never thought bioware would make an RPG.

There was still a few details tht were hazy, but the press release never mentioned Ea, so 1up are assuming the deal was made before the EA deal and obviously it will be microsoft that publish it since they own the IP.

As you can tell if you read y post i was a little hesitat myself and sinethis is not all over the place im still a litte hesitant, but its not like im just making this up check the podcast for yourself.

Wait, are you for real? I gotta check out the podcast. I hope it's in 3rd person. I've always wanted to play a Halo game all in 3rd person. Anyways, it blows that Mark is leaving. Luke left for Bungie and Mark leaves for Bioware. They were the best on the podcast. Atleast John is still left.BioShockOwnz

yeah i liked Luke and mark fun to listen to.

Mark said it was Luke that basicly put him inthe direction of the job.

Mark left for his new job today with Bioware.

Please listen to this so at lest somebody will have heard the same as me and then i know am not going crazy LOL.

so im guessing if its telling the story of the forerunner..... that means we will have to deal with the god damn flood agian......Blackfallen

Yeah thats what i was thinking.

I hated fighting the flood, infact i hate fighting monsters in huge numbers, its still fun but being over-run by the flood in one of the last levels made me crazy.

But im an hour into the podcast and they have not mentioned it and they seemed deadly serious.

yeah i liked the flood in some level but cortana made me go crazy on legendary by my self....... those ones that transformed into those ones that shoot those spikes.. pissed me off.

but if they are telling the story of the forerunner, then the flood will be included since thats why the made the rings... unless they had another enemy?

Yeah your right, luke and mark were playing a joke on garnett.

The seemed deadly serious and i said i was skeptical i wa a joke, i postd it to see if anybody elsehad heard anything about it, i never said it was fact.

Later on they talkabout the joke, but at the start they seemed deadly seious and garnett shane and john were giving him congrats as they thought it was real also.

I apologise if this misleaded anyone, i was just as skeptical as anybody else and posted to find out what peole had hear, asicly i was bit premture and should have listened to the entire podcast before posting, my apologies.

I got too excited and now im gutted a halo rpg by bioware woud have been awesome.
