i live in saudi arabia and the heat gets up to 47C donno about how much F. anyway i personally put a frozed bottle of water right against the venetlation holes that sucks air, and i put the bottle on a towel so when it gets humidity the water gets at the towel, and its doing a lot of good job keeping my xbox360 cool.
EDIT: its 116 F, but im running AC for sure

wow 116 F i would die but yeah the vents on the back dont suk in air they blow heat out. and once again i dont know if that would help either the solution to the 36s heat problem has to be internal
This isn't rocket science. Ambiant temperature will affect the internal temp.
Example: If I close the door to my game room, keep the window shut and the fan off, the room actually gets warmer from playing my 360. The 360 is pulling the air in the room into the console and heating it up while forcing it out the back. This will noticably heat my room up. In the winter this is not such a bad thing. It's a heater and a game console in one.
So if the room temp is cooler the internal temp would also be cooler. Now that it's a little warmer I keep the door and window open allowing the AC the flow through the room. My fan is set on the lowest speed to keep the noise down and pointed directly at my consoles helping to keep thm cool.
By the way that frozen water bottle idea isn't half bad. I may have to try that once summer really heats up.

Good, b/c i am moving to FL (CENTRAL AC), so the room will always be cool. also, isn't it bad to point a fan at the 360 b/c u COULD POSSIBLY be blowing dust into it??
plus it would be hard for 360's breathe in cool air with the fan blowing towards it, no? Idunno about you but when a big wind goes by me it gets a bit harder to take in air.
I put a freezer pack wraped in towl and put it 5 CM away from the back of the 360s. Not sure if it worked.

The 360 is not a human being. Also a small fan doesn't quite have the power that a gust of wind has.
The 360 blows air out of the back, it sucks it in on the other two vents. You may want to move your freezer pack closer to one of the other vents.
i have a fan next to the holes in the back pointing away so i blows the hot air away from my 360nepats2812
A good idea as well.
I read that some people put a fan near the 360, to blow hot air coming out of the 360 away. Does that really help or does it do more harm than good? I live in Michigan so weather gets crazy. 2 days ago it was almost 90, not it droped to 73. So I'm really carefuly about playing my 360 in my room which can get to 85 degrees. cybermario
Wow, those temps sound great. The temp in Memphis, TN has been 90's since mid-May. We think it's really cooled off if we get anything in the 80's. Point being, I don't use a fan and my 360 and it works fine. If you have a/c, it really shouldn't matter when the outside temp changes.

The 360's design model was originally made for small bathrooms...
because everyone likes a warm bathroom after a shower....

The 360 gets hot. So what!! It has all the games. Stop making pointless threads and start gaming!! :P
do the 360 coolers that u can buy help at all?seahawks237
They help bring the internal temp down a few degree, but nothing signifigant to make a difference.
fanning the 360 wont be to smart.Get the innercooler or an ac in the room those tend to be the safest
